Keyshia Cole Reunites with Mom Frankie as She Awaits Birth of 2nd Child

Keyshia Cole shared a lovely photo with her mother, Frankie just days ahead of the birth of her second child. Keyshia previously revealed Frankie, who's been in and out of rehab, may be joining her on her upcoming baby special.

Days away from giving birth to her second child, Keyshia Cole announced her return to BET with a baby special. Not only that, she reveals her mother Frankie Lons may be part of it.

This week, the singer shared a reunion photo of the two of them on her Instagram Story revealing the love they still share despite their ups and downs.

THE DOWNSIDE OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP

Keyshia and her mother have been through quite a lot with Frankie slipping in and out of rehab due to her battle with drug addiction. In August 2018, she opened up about her struggle in dealing with her mother’s addiction and the pain it causes her every time she relapses.

“Every time my mom relapse[s], it breaks my heart more than it’s already been broken,” the 37-year-old wrote. “I’m hoping, if any of u are dealing with a family member who’s battling with drug addiction, that you, yourself are learning how to cope with the struggle of it all.”

A year earlier, Keyshia also opened up to her fans about a conversation she had with her mother where she told her she didn’t want to lose her. Her mother assured her she’d be fine without her but Keyshia disagreed and told Frankie she would not be ok if something happened to her.

Keyshia revealed last week that cameras have started rolling for what she calls her “Baby Special” on BET. The star adds that “both MY MOMMIES, HOPEFULLY ” will be part of it.

SEEING BETTER DAYS BETWEEN THEM BEFORE HER BABY'S BIRTH

Despite these setbacks in their relationship, Keyshia remains committed to being a daughter to Frankie. In fact, she recently shared a photo of the two of them as she awaits the arrival of her new child.

In her Instagram Story, the singer revealed their closeness as Frankie leaned on her pregnant daughter. It’s evident she’s there to support her for her new grandchild’s birth.

Frankie’s presence may also be because of her participation in her daughter’s new television special documenting her baby’s birth. Keyshia revealed last week that cameras have started rolling for what she calls her “Baby Special” on BET. The star adds that “both MY MOMMIES, HOPEFULLY” will be part of it.

In the photos she shared along with her announcement, Keyshia is joined by her 10-year-old son, Daniel, (with ex-husband Daniel “Boobie” Gibson) and the father of her unborn child, Niko Hale. They appeared to be filming in a baby store, most likely shopping for last-minute baby needs.

A SUBTLE ANNOUNCEMENT OF HER PREGNANCY

Keyshia surprised the world with the revelation of her pregnancy in May though there were rumors before about it. It was a subtle announcement that assumed fans already knew. She simply flaunted her grown belly ahead of Mother’s Day without a word about the pregnancy in her caption.

Fans can be assured, though, that despite Keyshia’s secrecy for the most part of her pregnancy, the birth of her baby boy, (yes, it's another boy according to Keyshia) will be a different story. Her television special will make certain of that.
