Lauren Bennett of 'Party Rock Anthem' Fame Passed Away — Her Partner Has Not Spoken Since
The singer built a career that took her from small stages in England to one of the biggest songs of the 2010s. But the news of her death came with a timeline that has left fans with more questions than answers.
Lauren Bennett, best known for her work with G.R.L. and her feature on LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem," has died in England. Yet the public announcement did not come until July 6, 2026, more than five weeks later.
The "Girls Are Always Right" singer was born on June 24, 1989, in Meopham, Kent, England. According to Variety, she began performing at a young age, entering local talent competitions before forming a duo with a friend at 14 and singing in pubs and bars.

She later competed on "The X Factor." Lauren auditioned for the Paradiso Girls and moved to Los Angeles at 17. The group released "Patron Tequila" in 2009 before Lauren pursued solo work and collaborated with artists including CeeLo Green and will.i.am.
Her biggest breakthrough came in 2011, when she appeared on LMFAO's worldwide hit "Party Rock Anthem." She later joined G.R.L., the girl group behind "Vacation," Pitbull's "Wild Wild Love," and their highest-performing single, "Ugly Heart."

G.R.L. Had Already Faced a Devastating Loss
Lauren and her bandmates had experienced tragedy years before her own death. Fellow G.R.L. member Simone Battle died by suicide in 2014 at age 25. In an interview later recounted by People, Lauren described how everything had suddenly changed for the group.
"You can never prepare yourself for something like this, ever," she said. "We'd just been in rehearsals the day before, learning choreography for our show, and the next day we were starting the morning as usual when we got the call. I still can't believe it. I don't think any of us can. It's weird that we're even sitting here, talking about it."
G.R.L. released "Lighthouse" in memory of Simone and partnered with the mental health charity Give an Hour. During that campaign, Lauren spoke about the group's hope of using its platform to help young people, according to the International Business Times.
"There's a lot of young people who are taking their own lives, and the music industry is so influential on youth. Hopefully, for us, we would love to help at least one person."

Those comments were made as part of the group's advocacy after Simone's death and were unrelated to the circumstances of Lauren's passing. Lauren also spoke to news.com.au in 2015 about how the loss continued to affect the group.
"We are still very affected by what happened, and it's been difficult for us to start again, bringing this all up again," she said.
Lauren Kept Making Music as Her Life Changed
After G.R.L.'s initial run ended, Lauren continued making music. In 2017, she and her brother Ryan formed the rock, country, and blues duo BENNETT and released "It's All Good," according to KTLA. G.R.L. reunited in different forms over the years, including another attempted comeback in 2021.

By then, Lauren's life had changed, too: She and dancer and actor Kenny Wormald had welcomed their daughter, Harlow, in September 2019. "Our little baby Harlow is here, and we are so in love @kennywormald 🥰🐣💕," the deceased singer captioned the post at the time.
In a July 2025 interview, Natasha Slayton spoke about the challenges of another reunion, revealing that Lauren had returned to London and was balancing music with motherhood.
"I'd love to do a G.R.L reunion, too," Natasha said. "It needs to happen, I want it to happen. Lauren now lives in London, that's where she's from. Emmalyn's back in Canada, where she's from, Paula and I are still here [in Los Angeles]."
"I mean, logistically, it's a little bit more difficult. Emmalyn and Lauren have kids now, but it's still totally possible," she added.
Her Death Was Announced More Than Five Weeks Later
The public learned of Lauren's death on July 6, when G.R.L. shared an emotional statement on its official Instagram page:
"It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren. Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved."
"Rest peacefully, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts. ❤️ Your GRLs Em, Tash, and P," they signed the announcement. But USA TODAY reported that Lauren had actually died in England on May 29, 2026, just under a month before what would have been her 37th birthday.
The official Kent and Medway inquest listing records Lauren Bennett-Wormald as 36 years old, gives May 29, 2026, as her date of death, and lists Meopham as the place of death. A formal inquest into her death is scheduled for October 30, 2026, at 2 p.m.
No cause of death has been publicly disclosed. The available reports also do not identify a known illness or health condition preceding her death.
That silence around the circumstances has become one of the biggest unanswered parts of the story. Kenny, Lauren's longtime partner and the father of her daughter, has also not publicly spoken about her death in the sources available.

One Friend Had Already Shared a Heartbreaking Tribute
Although G.R.L.'s statement brought the news to wider public attention, signs of the loss had appeared earlier. According to Deadline, Lauren's former Paradiso Girls bandmate Aria Crescendo had already mourned her before the formal announcement, sharing memories of their friendship and photos of their children.
Aria's June 23, 2026, Instagram tribute reflected on a friendship that had lasted more than two decades:
"💫 @laurenbennett my sister for ever today is ur birthday and I wish you wore here so we can celebrate …. We meet more then 20 years ago you wore 16 we grew up together and we made amazing souvenirs like this song we did with @iamwill in the studio [sic]."
"We had so much fun over the years so many stories and jokes that only you and me know about it . LOVE YOU FOR EVER [sic] 💔," she ended the post.
By the time the wider public learned of Lauren's death, her loved ones had also gathered to say goodbye. TMZ reported that an intimate memorial service was held in London with immediate family, close friends, and former G.R.L. and Paradiso Girls bandmates in attendance.
Guests reportedly wrote messages on balloons before releasing them into the sky. A memorial display featured a glamorous photo of Lauren alongside the words, "Celebrating the Life of Lauren Bennett," and the message, "Forever Loved. Forever With Us."
The Family Photos Lauren Left Behind
Away from the stage, Lauren was a mother to Harlow, now 6. While she once shared glimpses of her daughter online, those posts became increasingly rare. On June 20, 2021, Lauren shared a Father's Day photo of Kenny and Harlow, offering followers a look at the two people closest to her. "My cuties 🥰Happy Father's Day @kennywormald, we love you!!! ❤️"
A few months later, on September 6, 2021, she marked Harlow's second birthday with another rare photo of her little girl, captioning the carousel, "My sweet little girl is 2 today! 🥲 🎂"
Lauren frequently shared photos of Harlow until 2021, but her daughter largely disappeared from her public feed afterward, according to Hollywood Life. Years also passed without the kind of shared family photos that had once appeared on Lauren's page.
A later glimpse came via Kenny's Instagram account in an August 27, 2025, vacation video, which showed a relaxed moment by a sunlit swimming pool.
In the clip, Kenny stood barefoot at the pool’s edge in a loose, light-colored striped shirt and dark shorts, raising one hand toward Harlow, who sat nearby in a red-and-white floral dress. With blue skies, greenery, and stone buildings in the background, the brief scene offered a rare glimpse of the father and daughter enjoying a relaxed holiday moment.
Lauren's final Instagram post arrived in February 2026. The video showed her performing Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'."
In the video, Lauren stood at the microphone in a black outfit and cowboy hat, with sparkling turquoise details at her neck and wrists, as she performed alongside a live band. Backed by guitarists, a bassist, and a drummer, set against a brick wall.
