Cardi B Joins Bernie Sanders in 2020 Campaign Video Meant to Appeal to Young Voters
Cardi B will be appearing in a 2020 campaign video alongside presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders with whom she shares a mutual admiration. They teamed up to encourage the youth to vote and be more involved in politics.
Cardi B is using her star power and influence to good use. News outlets have revealed she’s teamed up with 2020 presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders to encourage young voters to be more involved in the political scene.
SANDERS HAD A PRODUCTIVE SIT DOWN WITH CARDI B
Sanders opened up to CNN about his collaboration with the popular singer who also shares the Vermont independent candidate’s passion for former President Franklin Roosevelt.
According to Sanders, he and the 26-year-old chart-topper spoke about several important issues during their sit down including climate change, the cancellation of student debt, and raising minimum wage.
Cardi hinted after their meeting when she tweeted her thanks to the senator that they also discussed Sanders’plans to combat economic, racial and social injustices.
Cardi B’s latest pronouncements about Sanders coincides with her recent attack against President Donald Trump. The rapper slammed POTUS for turning a blind eye on police brutality directed towards black people
THEY'RE APPEARING IN A CAMPAIGN VIDEO TOGETHER
As part of their collaboration, Cardi joined Sanders in a campaign video promoting youth involvement in political issues and in the elections. Sanders told CNN,
"The future of America depends on young people. They are voting in large numbers, but not large enough numbers."
Today @iamcardib and I finally met. We had a great conversation about the future of America.— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) July 30, 2019
And let me tell you: Cardi B is right.
Together, we’ll get millions of young people involved in the political process and transform this country. Stay tuned for our video coming soon! pic.twitter.com/L9mQ8InMZu
THEY SHARE A MUTUAL ADMIRATION FOR EACH OTHER
The video was reportedly shot at a local nail salon owned by two Black women. This may be the first of Sander’s future collaborations with Cardi who has yet to endorse him as her candidate of choice despite expressing her admiration for him earlier last month. She tweeted,
“I been reading about Bernie Sanders and I'm really sad how we let him down in 2016. This man been fighting for equal rights, HUMAN rights for such along time. Seeing this country become a better place been really his passion for a long time not a new front for a campaign."

Sanders likewise lauded the singer during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on the host’s show describing her as “really smart” and “deeply concerned about what’s happening in this country.”
CARDI DOESN'T FEEL THE SAME FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP
Cardi B’s latest pronouncements about Sanders coincides with her recent attack against President Donald Trump. The rapper slammed POTUS for turning a blind eye on police brutality directed towards black people.
She resigned to the fact that as long as Trump is president, the issue will remain unsolved.
Cardi clearly has a lot of concern for her community making her an artist who not only influences through her music but uses her voice for a greater cause. We wish her success in her future endeavors in making this country a better place.
