Kelly Ripa Commemorates Daughter Lola Going to College with Touching Photo

TV presenter Kelly Ripa said goodbye to her daughter, Lola, as she begins her first semester at college.

Ripa took to Instagram to share an emotional post that sees her kissing her 18-year-old daughter just before dropping her off at the college.

She added a heartfelt caption suggesting that their house will now be emptier due to Lola’s absence.

“The nest is getting roomy.”

CNN host and one of Ripa’s good friends, Anderson Cooper, was quick to comment on the post. The famous presenter tried to lighten up the mood by quipping, “I will happily move in.”

SHE’S NOT THE FIRST ONE TO LEAVE

Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, was also with her during the heartwarming moment, as was apparent from his Instagram.

Consuelos shared the same photo uploaded by Ripa on his own Instagram and wrote, “2 down… 1 to go…”

Before Lola, the couple’s eldest child, son Michael Joseph, 22, also left home to join the New York University.

Besides Michael and Lola, Ripa and Consuelos also share a 16-year-old son, Joaquin Antonio.

THEY GROW UP SO FAST!

Less than a week ago, Ripa shared a throwback photo of her daughter that sees her being cradled up as a newborn. A younger version of Ripa and Consuelos carry Lola while they look at her lovingly.

Ripa’s emotional post came in honor of her daughter’s journey from “Christening to college.”

“In the blink of an eye. I’m not crying. You’re crying.”

Previously, Ripa also shared a few snapshots from Lola’s prom night that happened in June. A series of photos revealed Lola donning a gorgeous green dress, which her fans absolutely loved.

Later, during a guest appearance for “Jerry O,” Ripa informed that the beautiful dress was planned by her. It was designed by NYC-based tailor Raza Wijdan and styled by Ripa’s own stylist, Audrey Slater.

However, Ripa disclosed that her daughter did make some final alterations to the dress at the last minute without her knowledge.
