Taraji turned 49 years old on September 11, and her longtime friend Viola Davis took to Instagram to wish her a happy birthday with a post that proves the wonderful relationship they share.

The photo was the cover of the 2009 May issue of Ebony Magazine wherein both actresses appeared together wearing beautiful, white, sleeveless dresses while piercingly looking at the camera.

“We held each other up during the Oscars that year."

In the caption, Viola admitted that she wouldn’t have appeared on that cover if Taraji wouldn’t have insisted. Ebony initially wanted to get only Taraji, but she told them she wouldn’t do it unless they got Viola in, too.

“We held each other up during the Oscars that year,” the HTGAWM wrote. “Reminded each other that we deserved to be there. That epitomizes sisterhood, sister love.”

To finish her message, Viola labeled Taraji as a “rare cut diamond” and wished her a happy birthday.

Taraji quickly took to the comment section to point out that she loves Viola as well and that she would do what she did back in 2009 again.

The beautiful relationship between Viola and Taraji became evident for the first time at the 2015 Emmy Awards. Both of them were nominated for leading actress in a drama series, but Viola took the award home for her work in HTGAWM.

Instead of feeling sorry for not winning, Taraji authentically and tightly hugged Viola as she was heading on stage. Once there, she gave a powerful speech about opportunities for Black actresses in Hollywood.

Speaking of Taraji, she recently made headlines with her beautiful, natural, curly hair. The “Empire” actress attended a US Open match supporting Serena Williams while rocking her natural hair, what made her followers praise her on social media.

Apart from her hair, her fiancé Kelvin Hayden also attracted attention as both of them looked stunning together.

The couple, who has been engaged for more than a year, is not in a hurry to get marry.

Instead, the pair have been enjoying their engagement as much as possible, going on dates and gushing about each other on social media whenever they have the chance.
