Princess Charlotte Celebrates 11th Birthday – Fans Say She Looks Just Like Her Dad, Except for One Detail
Princess Charlotte is marking a major milestone — her 11th birthday — and the royal family is celebrating with a brand-new portrait that’s already getting plenty of attention online.
Charlotte, the couple’s only daughter, is the middle child between Prince George, 12, and Prince Louis, 8. And while she may be second-born, royal insiders say she’s anything but overlooked. In fact, it was previously reported that Charlotte is known for her strong personality, with one palace source saying, "She is quite a strong character, almost wise beyond her years."

To honor the occasion on May 2, Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a fresh photo of their daughter, captured by photographer Matt Porteous during the family’s getaway in Cornwall.

The image shows Charlotte standing in a field surrounded by flowers, smiling brightly in a striped top and denim pants, with a subtle detail fans quickly noticed — her blue-painted nails.
“Wishing Charlotte a very happy 11th birthday! 🎂,” the Prince and Princess of Wales wrote in the caption.
The new portrait immediately sparked a wave of reactions from royal watchers, many pointing out her resemblance to her father. “Looks like her daddy!” one fan wrote, while another agreed: “She looks like William”. A third added: “Looking just like her dad with hair!! Happy Birthday”. At the same time, others noticed similarities to her mother, with the comment: “Beautiful young lady. Looks like Dad with Mom's hair color,” and another adding, “Looks Like Prince William there with her mother's hair.”
Charlotte’s place in the royal family is also historically significant. She was the first princess to benefit from a major change introduced by Queen Elizabeth II in 2013, which ensured that birth order — not gender — determines succession. That means Charlotte, currently third in line to the throne, kept her position even after the birth of her younger brother, Prince Louis.
While her place in the line of succession may shift in the future, Charlotte is already carving out her own identity — balancing royal tradition with a modern upbringing. And as this latest birthday portrait shows, she’s growing into her role with confidence and charm.
