'Straight up' Singer Chante Moore Gave Update on Her Dad's Health after He Had a Heart Attack
Chante Moore is grateful for her father’s health and can’t stop thanking God. The R&B singer gave fans a video update after the senior was hospitalized over a heart attack.
Moore lost her mother over two decades ago, and her brother died in 2013, so her father having a health emergency must have been a genuine scare.

Thankfully, the 86-year-old dad pulled through and Moore, 52, took to Instagram with the happy news late last month.
Alongside a video of her father on the hospital bed and another of their car ride home, the "Chanté's Got a Man" hitmaker wrote:
"Whew! Last week, my 86yr old father had a heart attack! This was the 1st time he has EVER been in a hospital!! JESUS has done GREAT THINGS... This story could’ve had a completely different outcome!! If it wasn’t for the grace and mercy of my God!!!!! ...I just haaaad to testify about God’s miraculous work!!"
GRATEFUL HEART
Moore further revealed that she and her sister LaTendre’ took their dad home three days after his heart attack.
“Jesus keeps blowing my mind... over & over... & over... {well, you get the point},” the singer continued to rave. “I Get My Praise IN~ I worship, sing & dance like David danced or sit in Silence... but, when I think, for a moment about ALLL of those moments that it should’ve been the end of ME???!?!!”
MOORE & MUSIC
Although the younger generation may have trouble recognizing Moore, she is one of those who defined 90s R&B and till this day, continues to be one of the industry’s best vocalists and songwriters.
Moore’s 1992 debut album “Precious” was certified gold, and in 1999, her third album “This Moment Is Mine,” produced the mega-hit "Chanté's Got a Man" which earned her a Soul Train Award nomination for "Single of the Year, Female."
MOORE'S RELATIONSHIPS
More recently, Moore was part of the main cast for the now-canceled TV One reality series “R&B Divas: Los Angeles.” Besides her exceptional talent, Moore is also known for her highly publicized marriages to fellow celebrities.
Moore married "A Different World" actor Kadeem Hardison in 1997; a year earlier, their daughter Sophia, had been born. The union was not to be, however, and they divorced in 2000.
Two years later, in 2002, Moore married singer Kenny Lattimore and welcomed a son – Kenny Lattimore Jr. – in 2003. By 2011, however, the "Straight Up" singer announced that she and Lattimore had divorced.
"My ex-husband Kenny Lattimore and I are Divorced," she wrote via Vibe. "We both will continue to be devoted parents to our son. Keep us all in your prayers!"
Although Moore and Lattimore’s divorce was reportedly messy, she seemed to have moved on by 2015 when she went public with her new man, “Soul Food” actor Darrin Dewitt Henson.
Moore and Henson don't appear to be an item anymore, and these days, the California native seems to be more engrossed with family and making new music.
