Christie Brinkley Has Tied the Knot 4 Times — Meet the Supermodel’s Husbands

The record-breaking supermodel was famously married to singer Billy Joel back in the ‘80s, but she also married three other men that had nothing to do with show business.

65-year-old Christie Brinkley became a familiar face back in the ‘80s, when she conquered the fashion world as one of the most iconic models of the time, the only one to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated for three consecutive years.

In more recent years, Brinkley became an acclaimed Broadway star playing Roxie Hart in “Chicago,” and she had a recurring role in the comedy series “Parks and Recreation” from 2012 to 2015.

Back when Brinkley was a 19-year-old newcomer in the modeling business, she got married for the first time, divorcing in 1981. Since then, she went on to marry and divorce three more times. These are her four ex-husbands.

JEAN-FRANCOIS ALLAUX

Allaux is a well-known French artist and illustrator who has also served as Associate Professor in the Department of Art and Design at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

Brinkley’s marriage with Allaux started in 1973 went on for eight years, and came to an end around the time when her career was approaching its peak. The two didn’t have any children together.

BILLY JOEL

The much-publicized relationship between Brinkley and the singer-songwriter began as a professional collaboration, when the model appeared in Joel’s “Uptown Girl” music video in 1985.

The two tied the knot in 1985 and divorced in 1994 after having welcomed daughter Alexa Ray Joel, 33, who grew up to become a singer, following the example of her father. Joel and Brinkley have remained good friends ever since.

Brinkley’s third marriage, to real state developer Richard Taubman, was very brief, lasting only from 1994 to 1995, but the two had a son together, whom they named Jack (he is 24 years old now.)

PETER COOK

Brinkley was luckier on her fourth and last marriage to date, to architect Peter Cook. Brinkley and Cook exchanged vows in 1996, a decade after meeting for the first time. It remains her longest marriage, with the two divorcing in 2008.

The former couple share daughter Sailor Lee Brinkley-Cook, who is replacing her mother on season 28 of “Dancing With the Stars” after Christie broke her arm during a rehearsal for the dancing competition.
