Famous Actor's Son Becomes New Heartthrob After Role Reveal — Photos
"I'm calling him every day. We're super close," the new actor said about his relationship with his father. The comment sounded sweet enough on its own — until people realized exactly who he was talking about.
A fresh-faced newcomer quietly stepped onto one of television's biggest red carpets — and before long, people started asking the same question: Why does he look so familiar?
The actor's calm confidence, striking appearance, and surprisingly grounded personality quickly sparked curiosity online after his appearance at the season 3 premiere of HBO's "Euphoria."

The New Face Suddenly Everywhere
The rising actor recently attended the Los Angeles premiere of "Euphoria" season 3, where he opened up about joining one of the most talked-about television shows in the world.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the newcomer appeared relaxed yet slightly overwhelmed as he discussed his first major acting role. He also explained that most of his previous acting work involved short films made during college before suddenly finding himself thrown into a massive HBO production.

"I mean, it's been wild. This is my first real, you know, set experience. I did a lot of short films in college and stuff, but, you know, stepping into this is kind of it's jumping into the deep end in a really cool way."
He added that he only learned he had landed the role two days before filming began. "I found out two days before I got the role that I got that before we had to film,” he said. “So, I flew out the next morning." At that point, many viewers were still focused mainly on one thing: figuring out exactly who he was.

The Hollywood Connection That Surprised People
The actor is Homer Gere, the son of Richard Gere and actress-model Carey Lowell. According to IMDb, Homer was born in New York City in February 2000 and is now beginning to build an acting career of his own. According to People, Richard and Carey married in 2002 after several years together, welcomed Homer in 2000, and eventually separated after 11 years of marriage.

Long before Homer stepped into acting himself, Richard openly spoke about how much fatherhood changed his life. In an interview with The Guardian, Richard described his son as "the joy of my life. Loves music, very fast runner, very smart. Very funny. Pretty quick he learned irony, which is a wonderful quality for any human being."

Years later, the actor continued emphasizing how important his son remained in his life. Speaking with Hindustan Times, Richard admitted he carefully planned projects around spending time with Homer. "My film decisions are mostly mine, but I'm very careful about not being away from my son, Homer James Jigme Gere, for very long."

"So, if I have to be away for long, I talk to him about it, and if there is a problem, I don’t take up the project. And I have done that. Your family is more important than anything," he added.

Not the Typical Celebrity Kid Path
Part of the intrigue surrounding Homer comes from how unexpectedly low-profile his background appears compared to that of many celebrity children entering Hollywood. According to his LinkedIn profile, Homer studied psychology, visual art, and cognitive neuroscience at Brown University.

He also worked as a research assistant at Brown University's Therapeutic Neuroscience Lab before entering the entertainment world professionally. The academic résumé made his sudden appearance inside the world of "Euphoria" feel even more unexpected.
But creativity clearly runs throughout the family. In an interview with Vanity Fair España, Richard revealed that Homer eventually became the lead singer of a punk band after experimenting with piano and drums while growing up.

Richard shared:
"One of the rules in my house is that you have to choose an instrument and learn to play it, so he started banging away at the piano as a kid. He studied it for two years and then gave it up, but I insisted he had to try something else, and he switched to the drums, which also didn't last long."
"However, a couple of years ago, he started playing with his own band at university, and now he's the lead singer of a punk band," he added.

Then Came "Euphoria"
The biggest turning point came when Homer officially joined "Euphoria." During his interview with Entertainment Tonight, he explained that although Richard offers guidance, the advice is less about acting technique and more about navigating life inside the industry.

"He gives great advice," Homer explained. "It's not necessarily related to like the craft, but more like how do you carry yourself? How do you make this work in a positive way?" He also revealed just how close he remains with his father. "I'm calling him every day," he said. "We're super close."

Homer added that he plays a character named Dylan Reed, who exists inside the show's fictional "show within a show" storyline. He also shared scenes with Sharon Stone, whom he described as "the most lovely woman."

Another Major Project Is Already Lined Up
Homer's Hollywood momentum does not appear to be slowing down anytime soon. According to Deadline, he has also joined the cast of Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX adaptation of "The Shards."
The psychological thriller series will star Homer opposite Kaia Gerber, the daughter of Cindy Crawford, who was previously married to Richard Gere during the 1990s.

Speaking about Kaia and Ryan, during the interview with Entertainment Tonight, Homer said, "Kaia's great," adding, "Uh, doing 'The Shards,' I mean, it's incredible. Ryan Murphy is a real genius, and he sees everything at every level."
"So, getting to be directed by him, a couple [of] episodes is really great. Um, and to know him, you know, he's a lovely guy," he added.

The unusual Hollywood crossover only added another unexpected layer to the growing interest surrounding the newcomer. In the series, Homer will portray Robert Mallory, a central character in Bret Easton Ellis' dark coming-of-age thriller.
As more premiere clips and red-carpet photos circulated online, attention increasingly shifted toward Homer himself. There was the unmistakable resemblance to Richard Gere, of course. But there was also something else drawing people in: a quieter, more understated energy that felt very different from the usual flashy Hollywood debut.
Between "Euphoria," Ryan Murphy's "The Shards," his academic background, and his surprisingly low-key personality, Homer Gere suddenly became one of the more intriguing new faces entering Hollywood right now.
And judging by how quickly curiosity around him exploded after just one premiere appearance, this may only be the beginning.
