I can't wait for the season premiere
On the show's Twitter account, the Flamingo, Rottweiler, Skeleton, Ice-cream, and Peacock, walked the purple carpet together as evidenced in a photo, and the show debuted the "Ladybug Mask," for the first time.
The post came with the caption,
"#LadybugMask made its debut at the #Emmys purple carpet…"
Fans of the show wasted no time in reacting to the new mask, with some speculating on the faces behind the costumes. One person wrote,
"Can't wait; already got ideas from the sneak preview."
Another wrote,
"Absolutely loved watching the last season. I told my friends and family, and they [got] hooked. I can't wait for the season premiere."
There's a lot more variety this year; it's visually inspiring. We want to make them more playful on stage, like a little party
While a third tweeted,
"So excited. Can't wait to see how many I guess correctly. Hope I get more than I did last season."
The new season of "The Masked Singer," holds better promises than the previous one which debuted earlier this year. The costume designer for the singing competition show, Marina Toybina, explained in a recent interview the inspiration behind the costumes for season two.
She said,
"There's a lot more variety this year; it's visually inspiring. We want to make them more playful on stage, like a little party."
Toybina added that the designs have more details, and referred to them as "Walkable arts." So far, the showrunners have shown 16 costumes, and have 16 stars lined up to take part in the competition.
Fans of the show will get to see an egg costume, Tree, Fox, Butterfly, Penguin, Leopard, Flower, Panda, Thingamajig, and a Black Widow in addition to the ones already mentioned.
In the video preview, fans got to see a sneak peek of Skeleton, Rottweiler, and Ice-cream on stage, and last season's winner, T-pain, "The Monster." The latter beat Gladys Knight, "The Bee," and Donny Osmond, "The Peacock," to win, and will perform the opening act when the show premieres.
"The Masked Singer" returns with season two on Wednesday, on Fox at 8/7c.
