Snoop Dogg's Wife Shante Sings the Dells' 'the Love We Had Stays on My Mind' after Grandson Dies
Snoop Dogg’s wife Shante Broadus mourned the death of their infant grandson in an emotional singing video posted to Instagram a few days ago.
The couple’s firstborn, Corde, lost his son Kai Love ten days after the infant was born and the family has been trying to get over their loss.

In the video shared to Instagram, Shante sings along to The Dells’ 1971 hit "The Love We Had Stays On My Mind." "To My Fifth G Baby," she captioned the post, adding broken heart emojis and Kai’s date of birth and death.

Followers in the comment section extended their condolences to the grieving Broadus clan.
"Sorry for the loss of baby Kai," one user wrote.
'Oh my. …So sorry to hear this. Love, light, and healing to you and your family," chimed in another.
A third fan added: "Sending my deepest condolences and prayers to you and your family."
Per ESSENCE, Corde, 25, confirmed Kai’s death via Instagram on Thursday. The rapper shared a since-deleted video of his daughter Elleven kissing the newborn while he was alive, writing:
"My Son Kai brought so much love and positivity into this world. His energy will live on and these 10 days of love will always be special to us. Let’s all cherish life and those we love while we are here. Thank you."
Kai was born on September 15, and according to Pop Culture, the child spent most of the time in a neonatal intensive care unit. The family has, however, not revealed a cause of death.
Kai was born to Corde and his current partner Soraya, who is also Elleven’s mother. Back in 2015, Corde and his then-girlfriend Jessica Kyzer welcomed Snoop’s first grandchild, a boy named Zion.
Snoop (real name Calvin Broadus Jr.) also shared a heartbreaking reaction to the death of his grandson. The 47-year-old hip-hop legend posted a video message of texts that read:
"If you're facing something you don't understand: Choose to trust God. Remember all He has done for you. His ways are higher than ours. He is always good."
Meanwhile, Corde and Soraya seem to be moving on from the tragedy, as one of the musician’s recent posts reflects.
"I think we missed the biggest lesson tho. My son did all he needed to do in his 10 days here on earth," Corde captioned a slide of family photos from when Soraya was pregnant with Kai. "Kai wants all of you to kno (sic) he’s doing great and wants to continue to inspire those who light is dim."
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Broadus family as they deal with this loss.
