Tika Sumpter of HAHN Gets Emotional When Tyler Perry Presents Her with a Star at the Tyler Perry Studios Lot

Tika Sumpter was one of the actresses honored at the opening of Tyler Perry's new studio.

Director Tyler Perry has officially opened his new film studio in Atlanta, and the party was packed with celebrities and stars.

Among them was actress Tika Sumpter, who starred in Perry's "A Madea Christmas," and is a great admirer of the writer/ director.

TIKA SUMPTER HONORED BY TYLER PERRY

Perry apparently admires Tika's work just as much, and he surprised her with a star similar to those on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with her name on it.

Tika was moved to tears and posted a series of photos and a clip of the event on her Instagram, captioned:

"When Tyler Perry presents a star on his lot that will forever be cemented in his legacy..you go through a range of emotions."

Tika was a vision in a long silver-sequined tube dress with a black bodice and spaghetti straps. She wore dramatic sparkling drop-shaped earrings, and her hair was swept back into a ponytail.

Perry's magnificent new studio is an incredible achievement for a man who was once homeless and is now one of the most powerful figures in the entertainment industry. He said:

“I think it’s pivotal in everything that we’ve done, everything that we’re doing still, that we continue to try to motivate and inspire people.”

Tika shared a photo of herself and Perry on Instagram, and captioned it:

It was a day of triumph for Perry, with every major black star in the industry in attendance, including Oprah Winfrey, Samuel L. Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Halle Berry, Andrew Young, Spike Lee, Cicely Tyson, Tiffany Haddish, Taraji P. Henson, Usher, Ludacris, Chris Tucker, and many many more.

Tika Sumpter shares an adorable daughter, Ella-Loren, with fiancé Nick James.

She shared a sweet photo on Instagram that shows just how much she and her baby girl look alike. She captioned it:

"I truly feel so lucky to have my Ella. Lifting you guys up. Hug your loved ones."

Tika and Nick James are engaged, but the gorgeous couple has yet to announce their wedding date.
