Niecy Nash reveals that she and her husband Jay Tucker are calling their marriage quits after eight years. The actress reveals that they reached a mutual decision to separate after realizing that they are better off as friends than lovers.

Knowing that her fans have been invested in her marriage in all of its eight years all thanks to social media, Niecy Nash provided them an explanation that expressed her gratefulness for all the support they've given them as a couple.

"We believe in the beauty of truth. Always have. Our truth is that in this season in our lives, we are better friends than partners in marriage. Our union was a gorgeous ride. And as we go our separate ways now, we feel fortunate for the love we share - present tense."

Looking Back at Their Eight-Year Marriage

Nash and Tucker met at a labor day party in 2009, and it was love-at-first-sight for both of them. In just two years, they got married at the Church Estate Vineyards in Malibu in front of 200 guests.

While things went south pretty quickly, it hasn't always been this way as just last year, the happy couple celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary by slow dancing with one another.

Celebrating their union with their family and friends, the couple looked as if they were in their own world as they shared a slow dance in front of their guests.

Choosing to Remain as Friends

Unfortunately, although that love still remains, the couple would rather choose to stay friends than a married couple now that they've finalized their decision to get a divorce.

Jay and Niecy do not share any children together, but the actress has three kids, Dominic, Donielle, and Dia, from her first husband Don Nash.
