Jonathan Scott from 'Property Brothers' and Zooey Deschanel Make Red Carpet Couple Debut at Critics' Choice Documentary Awards
You know it's real when stars hit the red carpet. On Sunday, Jonathan Scott and Zooey Deschanel unofficially announced their relationship to the world.
The "Property Brothers" star and the "New Girl" alum stepped out over the weekend for the Critics' Choice Documentary Awards in Brooklyn, New York City.
It was the first red carpet appearance for Scott, 41, and Deschanel, 39, following rumors that the pair were dating since September. Photos from the event are found below.
One of the couple's earliest spottings was in Silver Lake, California. They were captured hand in hand as they arrived at Little Dom's restaurant presumably for lunch.
On Sunday, Deschanel looked gorgeous in a white high-necked dress printed with green and yellow flowers. On her arm was Scott, donned in a burgundy suit with a grey undershirt and black tie.
The couple hugged and smiled for pictures before heading inside where Deschanel would present the award for Best Music Documentary. "Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice," snagged the title.
People magazine managed to catch them on the carpet though. There, Scott confirmed, "Yes, it is our first red carpet together because she is also a huge advocate for independent films and documentary films."
Deschanel's new relationship follows her September announcement that she split with estranged husband Jacob Pechenik. The two were together for four years and share children Elsie, four, and Charlie, two.
For his part, Scott ended things with Jacinta Kuznetsov after two years back in March 2018. Scott was also the host of Sunday's Documentary Awards event.
Although this is the first shared appearance, Deschanel and Scott have recently been posting pictures with each other to their social media. In October, they were at a haunted house together in Universal Studios.
In early November, the pair attended the costume-themed wedding of Scott's brother with catwoman and batman getups. In her post, Deschanel also included a shot of the newlyweds.
She captioned it in part:
"It’s the first time I’ve ever been cat-woman escorted to a fancy dress party wedding by Batman. Only for the nuptials of @mrjdscott and @annaleebelle could I be so inspired!"
Deschanel and Scott reportedly first met while filming a segment for James Corden's "Carpool Karaoke" in August. We wish the lovebirds nothing but the best in their new relationship.
