MONDAY’S SAD ELIMINATION ROUND
On Monday’s semifinals episode of “DWTS”, “Pose” actor James Van Der Beek was sent home. His elimination came after he announced that his wife, Kimberly, had suffered a miscarriage over the weekend.
Van Der Beek had been one of the frontrunners throughout the dance competition. During the show, after his performance, the actor and Slater received lower scores than usual.
The judges felt he had performed better in previous weeks.
SLATER DISAPPOINTED BY ELIMINATION
Speaking during an interview with Extra TV after the elimination, Slater expressed her disappointment at the sudden elimination. Being sent home was surprising since both stars had done so well all along.

The professional dancer said:
"If I’m being completely honest, I don’t think that it was something that I could really see happening. We’re so grateful, we never took it for granted ever, but really had such high hopes that we could get into the finale and dance the freestyle and just go all the way to the end. The semi-finals are still great but he’s been through so much this week, I would have really liked to have got him in."
