Halle Berry Injured While Filming Fight Scene for MMA Movie 'Bruised' & Film Production Is Paused
Halle Berry reportedly suffered an injury while filming fight scenes for her latest movie and resulted in the suspension of production. While recovering, the actress gave an update concerning her injury.
Not even Halle Berry’s six-pack could prevent her from the injury that befell her while filming a scene for her directorial debut, “Bruised.”

DETAILS SURROUNDING HER INJURY
Berry reportedly suffered from an undisclosed type of injury while shooting scenes at the Elite Heat Boxing Gym in Newark on Monday. NJ Advance Media delivered the news as revealed by the film’s executive producer, Brian Pitt.
Pitt didn’t go into detail regarding Berry’s injury but told the publication the actress “got slightly injured in the fight.”
Berry plays a mixed martial arts fighter in the film which she also directs. As such, she has fight scenes with professional MMA fighters which could possibly result in injuries. Pitt said, the actress was “tired” and “needed a break” though he assured her injury was “nothing serious.”
Filming which was supposed to run until December 2 was halted due to Berry’s accident. Pitt revealed they’re currently shuffling schedules and locations in order to give way to Berry’s recuperation. He expects filming to resume by Friday.
AN UPDATE FROM THE INJURED STAR
On Wednesday, Berry assured fans she was fine when she gave them an update of her condition. She tweeted,
"Thank you to all the folks that have showered me with love since my injury. It’s par for the course when you do your own stunts, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Just know I’m far from tired. I’m wide awake...and just getting started!... #BruisedTheMovie"
HER INTENSE TRAINING
Earlier this month, Berry proudly revealed her toned abs, the result of months of intensive physical training for her role in the film. “I finally got them, and it feels unbelievable,” the 53-year-old said of her ripped assets.
Berry's post was also her way of encouraging others to set a goal and smash it like her. “The work won’t be easy, but that pay off? Worth every damn second,” she assured.
Berry's trainer, Mubarak Malik described her as "a beast" when training and attributed her fitness success to four hours of workout a day, intermittent fasting, and keto.
This isn’t the first time she pushed herself physically for her role. She revealed after filming “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” that it was her most challenging film in terms of pre-production training. Now that she found herself “bruised” from her new film, we wonder if that has changed.
