She once lived in Trump Tower and dominated tabloid headlines. Today, Marla Maples starts her mornings with meditation and green juice. After a high-profile divorce, she chose a quieter path far from the political spotlight.

Marla Maples once stood beside one of the most powerful — and polarizing — men in America, her blonde hair gleaming beneath the flashbulbs as Manhattan's elite looked on.

But when the curtain finally fell on her headline-making marriage to Donald Trump, Marla made a choice that stunned the society pages: she walked away from the glittering chaos and chose a life far from the spotlight.

A Glittering Life That Never Quite Fit

Born in 1963 in the tiny town of Cohutta, Georgia, Marla's early years were a world away from gold-plated penthouses and black-tie galas. Raised in a close-knit, small-town community, she later attended the University of Georgia before setting her sights on New York City — determined to carve out a future in acting.

Her career would eventually span more than 15 film roles, including appearances in "Happiness" and "Black and White." She also stepped onto television sets for shows such as "Spin City" and "The Nanny," and lit up Broadway stages in productions including "The Will Rogers Follies" and "Love, Loss and What I Wore."

Magazine covers followed, so did relentless media attention. Yet beneath the designer gowns and choreographed smiles, Marla admitted she never truly felt at ease in that rarified world.

In past interviews, she described formal galas and high-profile events as a role she felt expected to play — an image carefully constructed for public consumption. The reality, she suggested, was far quieter. She preferred evenings at home to dazzling red carpets. For her, a genuine connection mattered more than status.

Then, in 1999, after her divorce from Donald, she made a decisive move that would redefine her life. With their daughter, Tiffany, in tow, Marla relocated to Calabasas, California — a world away from Manhattan's tabloid frenzy. "That was my choice, raising her outside of the spotlight," Marla said in a previous interview.

The transition meant largely raising Tiffany on her own. While she described Donald as a dependable financial provider, she made clear that the day-to-day responsibilities rested squarely on her shoulders.

"Her daddy is a good provider with education and such, but as far as time, it was just me," Marla recalled. She added that although he loves his children, coordinating schedules often required careful negotiation.

Raising Tiffany — Alone but Determined

Marla made a conscious effort to nurture Tiffany's relationship with her father. Several times a year, she brought her daughter to New York for visits and dinners, determined to create consistency and space for their bond to grow naturally.

At home in California, she sought to recreate pieces of her own rural Georgia upbringing. Organic meals simmered in the kitchen most nights. Evenings were spent curled up together watching television. A trampoline sat in the backyard — a simple joy amid extraordinary circumstances.

"We loved going to the movies together. That was our big night out," Marla said. "We were always together," Tiffany added. "She gave me the chance to have a normal childhood."

But long before California sunshine and backyard trampolines, there was Madison Avenue — and a chance encounter that would ignite a media firestorm.

Marla met Donald Trump in the late 1980s as his marriage to Ivana Trump was unraveling. The two crossed paths in New York, and tabloids wasted no time seizing on the drama. Ivana was portrayed as polished European sophistication. Marla was cast as the Southern beauty queen — grounded in faith and radiating small-town charm.

In a 1990 interview with Vanity Fair, Marla spoke candidly about feeling connected to the land and rooted in her religious beliefs. Her spiritual outlook blended Christian faith with New Age influences, a combination that intrigued and divided observers.

She had arrived in New York in 1985 with dreams of making it in entertainment. Those close to the former couple later suggested she may not have been fully prepared for the unrelenting intensity of Donald's world.

Birth, Business, and a Carefully Timed Wedding

Two pivotal developments would shape the next chapter. On October 13, 1993, Marla gave birth to their daughter, Tiffany — a joyful milestone unfolding against a backdrop of corporate ambition and relentless tabloid scrutiny. At the time, Donald was preparing to take his casino business public.

His personal life was under intense media examination, raising concerns among investors. According to accounts published later, marriage was viewed as a stabilizing step.

Before walking down the aisle, Marla signed a prenuptial agreement. Donald's divorce from Ivana had been bitter and expensive. Ivana initially sought to challenge a revised version of their prenup, but the case ultimately settled for $14 million.

Marla's agreement was far more restrictive. Reports indicated she waived rights to future income and inheritances. In return, she was to receive $1 million. There was no provision for alimony.

The agreement also included strict confidentiality terms. Donald's previous divorce had unfolded in glaring public view. This time, discretion was paramount. Marla later said she believed she could renegotiate the terms after five years of marriage, but the couple separated after four.

Tabloid Storm and a Sudden Split

By 1996, renewed tabloid headlines reignited scrutiny. A National Enquirer story alleged she had been seen with a bodyguard — claims both denied. Sources cited in later reports suggested Donald was angered by the coverage but delayed filing for divorce.

They formally separated in 1997. Soon after, Marla headed west, settling in California and retreating from the relentless glare that had once defined her life.

Looking back, she has described the marriage as a relationship between two people who cared for one another at a particular moment in time. In a past interview, she said she wanted him to feel valued for who he was — not for his wealth.

A Life of Wellness, Faith, and Family

Today, decades removed from the tabloids that once chronicled her every move, Marla presents a markedly different image.

Her mornings are intentionally unstructured. She begins with meditation before stepping into the kitchen to prepare drinks made with celery and lemon — sometimes adding turmeric or ginger. Yoga anchors her routine, alternating between Iyengar and Kundalini practices.

When she is not supporting environmental and wellness causes, she works from a high-rise near Central Park, developing SoulShine Journeys — a spiritual travel venture designed to help participants reflect, reset, and focus on personal growth.

And in October 2025, she embraced a deeply personal milestone: grandmotherhood. She shared a photo of herself alongside Tiffany and her grandchild, writing, "Sending Sunday Blessings & Love your way. Thank you God. Great is thy Faithfulness."

On social media, admirers frequently comment on her appearance. "I love your natural look without filters," one person wrote. "Such a natural beauty," read another message. One commenter wrote, "Beautiful lady." Someone else added, "...You have the body of a 16 year old girl."

From Manhattan's gilded towers to quiet mornings of meditation and green juice, Marla's journey has been anything but ordinary.

Decades after her high-profile marriage and divorce, she now appears firmly rooted in what she says matters most: health, spirituality, and family — far removed from the dazzling world that once defined her name
