Donald Trump Jr. And Bettina Anderson Are Officially Married – What We Know
Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson are officially married — but one unexpected detail from their marriage certificate is already drawing widespread attention.
The wedding was intimate, the setting was paradise, and the ceremony took place far from where most Trump family members have traditionally said, "I do."

But before the Bahamas celebration even began, a quiet legal ceremony had already taken place in Florida — and one detail from the marriage certificate quickly sparked conversation online.

Donald Trump Jr., 48, and socialite Bettina Anderson, 39, are officially husband and wife. The couple first made their union legal on Thursday, 21 May 2026, in a ceremony held at the West Palm Beach home of Bettina's twin sister, Kristina Anderson McPherson.

The officiant was Bettina's brother-in-law, real estate attorney Bradley McPherson.
Three days later, on Saturday, 24 May, the couple celebrated with roughly 40 guests on a private island in the Bahamas. Don Jr.'s five children attended alongside Ivanka, Eric, and Tiffany Trump and several close family members.

The intimate gathering stood in contrast to the larger, more public Trump family weddings of recent years. The wedding also marked a major personal milestone for Bettina, who was marrying for the first time.
The Palm Beach socialite — the daughter of philanthropists Harry Loy Anderson Jr. and Inger Anderson — had embraced a classic bridal aesthetic throughout the couple's pre-wedding celebrations, wearing elegant white ensembles with delicate floral detailing in the lead-up to the ceremony.
Don Jr. was previously married to Vanessa Trump from 2005 to 2018, and the former couple shares five children.
Beyond the wedding itself, another detail that quickly sparked conversation online was that Bettina did not appear to legally adopt the Trump surname, according to the marriage certificate. Observers noted that the move appeared to break from expectations often associated with one of America's most recognizable political families.
Bettina's First Post After 'I Do'
On the day of the Bahamas celebration, Bettina shared a black-and-white photograph on Instagram of their joined hands, both wearing understated silver wedding bands.
She tagged Don Jr.'s account and wrote, "Forever yours, forever mine," alongside a white heart. A second story followed:
"The whole point is to marry your best friend."

Weeks before the wedding, Bettina had already shared glimpses of her excitement online. Following her enchanted garden-themed bridal shower at Mar-a-Lago in April, Bettina shared photos alongside several Trump family members on Instagram.
The event was hosted by Palm Beach socialites Yaz Hernandez, Amy Phelan, and Audrey Gruss, whom she thanked for creating what she described as an elegant and love-filled celebration.
Bettina also wrote that she felt grateful to be surrounded by women she admired and said she could not wait to marry Don Jr.
Eric Trump later shared similar thoughts, describing the couple as deeply happy together and saying he felt proud to have watched their relationship grow over time.
He added that Don Jr. and Bettina seem to bring out the best in one another and said he was thrilled for them as they celebrated their wedding day.
Tiffany Trump Shared a Glimpse of the Weekend
Other members of the Trump family also shared glimpses of the celebration online. Tiffany shared several glimpses of the Bahamas celebration across Instagram Stories during the weekend, offering followers a rare look at the private event.

Her posts captured the island setting, evening celebrations, and moments with family members gathered for the wedding. Lara Trump also shared sunset images from the beachfront festivities.
Yet the wedding itself may have surprised those expecting a more traditional Trump family celebration.

A Departure From the Trump Playbook
The Bahamas ceremony was notably more private than the Trump family's established wedding tradition.
President Donald Trump and Melania wed in Palm Beach in 2005 and held their reception at Mar-a-Lago. Eric and Lara married at the same estate in November 2018. Tiffany and Michael Boulos followed in November 2022. Don Jr. himself married Vanessa Trump at Mar-a-Lago in November 2005.

A source close to the couple disclosed that Don Jr. prefers to keep his personal life private rather than participate heavily in the social scene, adding that Bettina also has a strong affinity for island destinations.
A Palm Beach source also noted the pair wanted to wed before events marking America's 250th anniversary picked up and before the unpredictable storm season in South Florida and the Caribbean began.

President Donald Trump announced on Friday, 22 May, that he would not attend the wedding celebrations. In a post shared on Truth Social, he said he had hoped to be there for Don Jr. and Bettina but felt it was important to remain at the White House in Washington, D.C., due to ongoing government responsibilities.
The White House May Still Have Its Moment
The Bahamas celebration may not be the final chapter. A source exclusively said that the couple is hoping to hold a future celebration at the White House, where President Trump and Melania are both expected to attend.
It is a possibility that brings the story back to where it began. The couple announced their engagement at a White House holiday event on 15 December 2025. On that occasion, Don Jr. told those gathered:
"I'm not usually at a loss for words, because I'm usually doing the ranting and raving really well. I want to thank Bettina for that one word: 'Yes.'"
Between the quiet Florida ceremony, the private island celebration, and the unexpected details surrounding the marriage certificate, the couple's wedding has already carved out its own place within the Trump family's long history of highly public celebrations.
