Meghan McCain Celebrated Thanksgiving by Posting Throwback Pics of Late Father John McCain

“The View’s” co-host Meghan McCain celebrated her second Thanksgiving since her father, Senator John McCain, passed away. She took to Instagram with several photos to celebrate the special day.

In most of the images, the late senator was seen preparing to cook a Turkey outside. The television host captioned the post:

“Today is your favorite holiday. Happy Thanksgiving Dad, wherever you are. I miss you terribly. And to everyone else who this holiday is hard for - you are not alone, I am thinking of all of you.”

MEGHAN HONORS HER LATE FATHER

McCain put up the post on November 22, 2019, way ahead of Thanksgiving. One of the photos showed the late senator reading a newspaper on the family’s porch.

The images come from a set posted last year shortly after her father’s passing. The senator died in August 2018 at the age of 81 after battling stage 4 brain cancer.

The television host also took to social media on Thursday to share an official Thanksgiving post. She posted a photo where she was seen with Emily Domenech and a younger family member.

MEGHAN’S POST WITH CO-HOSTS

McCain captioned the festive image writing: "Three turkeys.” She also observed the holiday by sharing a photo from “The View” alongside her fellow co-hosts, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Abby Huntsman, and Whoopi Goldberg.

She captioned the post: "Happy Thanksgiving from our motley [The View] family to yours!"

COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS SINCE JOHN’S DEATH

On November 19, 2018, McCain shared how much she missed her father. Part of the caption from her lengthy post revealed that it had been “84 days” since his passing.

MCCAIN STILL MISSES HER FATHER

She also noted how “You used to get up early in the morning and go get us all Starbucks in town in the Cottonwood Safeway and then come home and make eggs and bacon. You always had a giant venti cappuccino.”

In the picture, her father was seen on the phone while preparing breakfast for the family. McCain regularly takes to social media to share how much she missed her father.

Her posts usually include images of him.
