Tika Sumpter Shares Shirtless Photo of HAHN Actor Fiancé Nicholas James on His Birthday

Tika Sumpter lauds her fiance, Nick James on his birthday revealing the strength of their relationship in spite of the hate they faced in the past.

Tika Sumpter had the finest words for her fiancé, Nick James, who celebrated his birthday recently.

The actress shared a shirtless photo of her hunk of a man and made it known to everyone viewing her post that he was truly “the best.”

Nick and Tika have braved the odds. From fending haters of their interracial relationship to proving them wrong, the pair remained steadfast in their union, especially with their daughter, Ella at the center of it.

In the past, Tika made an effort to keep her relationship private, and that includes their family life. While pregnant with their daughter, she concealed Nick’s identity to avoid prying and judging eyes.

Today, Tika can only be grateful for the man she’s engaged to, the man she considers her “best friend and cheerleader,” words she used to describe him in her caption for his birthday tribute.

“Nicholas you truly are the best. My best friend and biggest cheerleader. I I feel safe around you in every way,” she began to write.

Tika proceeds to thank the actor for “truly being the epitome of love.” She adds,

“Even when things aren’t going great w us you make sure we heal the rupture as fast as possible,” Ella and I are the two luckiest girls in the world. Truly. You’re simply the best. Happy birthday baby.”

FROM KEEPING THINGS PRIVATE TO CLAPPING BACK

In the past, Tika made an effort to keep her relationship private, and that includes their family life. While pregnant with their daughter, she concealed Nick’s identity to avoid prying and judging eyes.

However, when she finally opened up about their relationship following their engagement, Tika went on the defensive whenever fans would attack their interracial love. In fact, she retaliated by suggesting these haters were unhappy with their own lives so they’re putting down hers.

The actress was also firm in saying she wasn’t allowing anyone to trample on her relationship without a fight.

“I fell in love with who I fell in love with. And that’s the end of the story,” she told Wendy Williams. “But you’re not going to play him and you’re not going to play me. I may be cute and sweet but I will clap back.

ON RAISING HER DAUGHTER

Tika is currently part of the sitcom, “mixed-ish,” a spinoff of the popular comedy, “black-ish.” She plays Alicia, the mother of “black-ish” character, Rainbow, which used to be portrayed by Anna Deavere Smith in the original series.

Of her role on the show, the actress says it gives her insight on how to raise her own daughter.

“Right now, she’s 3-years-old,” Tika says of Ella in an interview with Shondaland in October. “And I know at some point we will have to talk to her about the “n-word,” and why mommy is darker and daddy is white. So, this show is helping me figure out those conversations about hair, religion, and race.”

Tika believes the best gift she can give her daughter is allowing her to have “her own voice.” She adds,

“I want her to have tough skin, see who her parents are and how her experiences are going to be similar and different from mine, but know that she will always see a Black mother who will be there to help her figure it all out.”

Luckily for Ella, she has Tika on her corner to show her by example.
