Meet Jeff Bridges’ Beautiful Wife Susan Geston Whom He Fell in Love with over Four Decades Ago

Actor and producer Jeff Bridges is one of the few people in Hollywood who has kept a healthy and strong relationship with his wife, Susan Geston, for more than four decades.

Born on December 4, 1949, Jeff has been an active member of the entertainment industry pretty much since he was born, and his parents were the principal reason for it.

Jeff Bridges’ parents were none other than Lloyd and Dorothy Bridges, who were famous actors between the 40s and the mid-80s. Jeff’s first screen appearance was in 1951 in “The Company She Keeps.” The actor was only one year old.

It wasn’t until 1958, however, that he began to pursue acting as a career. Starting that year, he was part of his father’s TV show “Sea Hunt,” wherein he portrayed different characters for two years.

Things kept improving over the years for Jeff Bridges, and in 1971, he landed his first major role in the movie “The Last Picture Show,” for which he got an Oscar nomination. He went on to work on “Thunderbolt and Lightfoot,” “Starman,” “The Contender,” “Crazy Heart,” and, more recently, “Hell or High Water.”

As per his romantic life, Jeff has been married to actress and producer Susan Geston since 1977. The actor revealed during an interview with “Oprah’s Master Class” that he and Susan met in Montana, while he was filming “Rancho Deluxe.”

Jeff and the rest of the cast were shooting a scene in a place called Chico Hot Springs in Paradise Valley, Montana, where Susan Geston worked as a waiter to pay for college. The actor, who fell in love instantly, admitted that he couldn’t stop looking at her. He added:

“Finally, I get the guts to go ask her out. I said, ‘Would you like to go out tonight?’ ‘No. It’s a small town, maybe I’ll see you around,’ she says.”

It was indeed a small town as the pair ran into each other in a bar a few nights later. That night, they danced, and “that was about it,” confessed Jeff, who also admitted to being head over heels.

Unfortunately, Jeff used to be afraid of the concept of marriage, so he didn’t propose for years. Susan Geston eventually gave him an ultimatum as she wanted to walk down the aisle and start a family already. Jeff once said:

"I knew I was madly in love with my wife the minute I saw her!"

Knowing that he could lose the love of his life, Jeff got down on one knee, and the couple tied the knot just five days after his proposal, on June 5, 1977.

If such a love story wasn’t cute enough already, the actor said that ten years into their marriage, the makeup artist who worked on “Rancho Deluxe” sent him a letter claiming that he had a picture of him asking a local girl out.

Much to his surprise, the pictures indeed showed Jeff Bridges’ wife smiling at the camera while the actor was talking to her. Those photos are so special that Jeff keeps them in his pocket as his “prized possessions.”

Fast forward four decades, and Jeff and Susan Geston are still together. They are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters: Isabelle Bridges, born on August 6, 1981, Jessica Lilly Bridges, born on June 14, 1983, and Haley Bridges, born on October 17, 1985.

Apart from that, Susan has also been involved in the entertainment industry for years. She produced the 1989 film “Cold Feet” and worked in the 1976 film “Stay Hungry” and the 1982 movie “Forbidden Zone.”

Even though Susan Geston’s movies have not been as successful as the ones her husband has worked on, they don’t let that aspect mess with their relationship.

At the moment, the couple is enjoying their married life, children, grandchildren, and of course, Jeff Bridges’ net worth, which is estimated at $70 million.
