Tamar Braxton’s ex-husband, Vincent Herbert is so deep in debt he may have to give up his royalties, according to the latest report by The Blast. He's been required to show himself in court in January 2020 in response to an ongoing case he’s been neglecting.

Back in 2017, Herbert's former employer, Sony Music sued him for failing to pay back advances he made as part of his deal to find new artists for the company. The lawsuit sought millions in damages and resulted in Herbert being ordered to settle his $4 million debt to Sony.

Herbert’s financial woes have been piling up in the last couple of years. In another court battle with LDNX Records in July, he was found in contempt of court after neglecting a subpoena requesting him to submit his financial records.

The default judgment was made after Herbert failed to respond to the case or show up in court. To this day, he has not paid a single cent of that debt, according to court documents submitted by Sony. What’s worse, the debt continues to increase due to interest.

In light of his lack of response, Sony Music filed a new case against Herbert in order to seize his assets as payment for his debt. In court documents submitted, the company claims Herbert has been deliberately hiding his assets through shell accounts to avoid being seized.

One of the assets cited in the case is a Calabasas home which was supposedly owned and controlled by Herbert under the company name Glory Place LLC FKA Heavenly Place LLC. Sony believes the proceeds of the sale of the house in 2018 was used to pay his other creditors but not the company.

Likewise, it also claims Herbert hides his identity through another shell company, GloJoe to collect payments on his behalf. This is in order to fund his lavish lifestyle, according to the court documents.

Herbert’s financial woes have been piling up in the last couple of years. In another court battle with LDNX Records in July, he was found in contempt of court after neglecting a subpoena requesting him to submit his financial records.

LDNX won the judgment and Herbert was required to cough up the $380k he owed the company who sued him for a botched business deal. It’s unclear if he settled that debt.

Meanwhile, Herbert was also delinquent in responding to his divorce case with Braxton. The papers were filed in October 2017 but dragged on until Braxton, who has moved on with boyfriend David Adefoso, was granted a status-only divorce back in April in order to deem herself legally single. Their divorce has yet to be finalized as well as their division of assets. However, we’re not sure what assets they'd be dividing considering Herbert’s compounding debts.
