Jack Burns Who Was a Child Actor and Ballet Dancer Dies at 14
The hearts of many were broken when it became public knowledge that child star and ballet dancer Jack Burns had died at age 14.
It was with shock that the world received the announcement of the death of former child actor from Scotland, Jack Burns.
The Elite Academy Of Dance took to Facebook to announce the dancer’s death just before a report by News.com.au was released.
In the school’s tribute to the star ballet dancer, some parts of the school’s statement read:
“Tragically as you know we lost our much-loved student Jack Burns on Sunday, December 1. Jack was an inspiration to everyone at Elite and touched the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of working and dancing with him since 2012. We and all of Jack’s family and friends are naturally completely devastated and are at a loss for words and answers.”
The academy also mentioned that their prayers were with Jack’s family, especially his parents, who had found him dead in their home.
Page Six added that Jack, who died suddenly earlier this month, became a part of the Glasgow Ballet School at nine years old after appearing on “Outlander” in 2014.
Although he also featured in speaking roles on the BBC’s “In Plain Sight” and “Retribution” in 2016, he never got credited.
While he
an education at St. Columba’s School in the village of Kilmacolm, Scotland, Jack was also in the Elite Academy of Dance. He joined the dance school in 2012.
Metro revealed that although the cause of the teenager’s death remained unclear, police have decided not to treat it as suspicious.
Meanwhile, a Hollywood Life tribute to the 14-year-old
out that his talent on the dance floor made many people call him “the next Billy Elliot.”
The late teenager was buried on Thursday, December 12, at St. Mary’s Church in Greenock, per a request from the deceased’s family.
Jack’s parents, Karen and Robert, and his younger brother Rory invited all members of The Elite Academy of Dance to attend the funeral services.
