She opted for a strapless sequinned mini dress that featured just one sleeve, accessorizing it with diamond jewelry.

Barrino has made waves in the entertainment industry as she chose to go independent, inspiring many others in the process.

AN INDEPENDENT WOMAN

Fantasia Barrino's latest project came out in late 2019, entitled "Sketchbook." With regard to the name, she shared it symbolizes her decision to go independent, drafting everything from scratch, going back to zero.

It is her simple way of taking control of her own career, hoping to inspire others, especially women, to do the same. Barrino has made waves in the entertainment industry as she chose to go independent, inspiring many others in the process.

"I don't have to be held in a box because my gift is too big for the box, and that's what rock soul is. It's a live feel, it's what we are doing onstage, it has flaws and it is flawed. It's music."

HER TROUBLING PAST RELATIONSHIP

It's been a long and bumpy road for Barrino, especially after such a controversial relationship with estranged partner Antwaun Cook. At the time of their relationship, the singer did not know that he was married.

She ended up with a court case from Cook's wife, which led to her near-death experience as she overdosed on sleeping pills.

OVERCOMING THE CHALLENGES

A decade after, though, she overcame all the challenges that came with the relationship and was left with a son, Dallas Xavier Barrino.

The 8-year-old boy is the light in his mom's life, and she's proven that multiple times by the way she shows him off on social media.

Through it all, Fantasia and her two children are loved and accepted by her new husband, Kendall Taylor, who is the Chief Operating Officer of Metro Trqansportation, LLC.
