Ron Isley's Wife Kandy Celebrated Their Son's 13th Birthday in a Sweet Post

Ron Isley’s wife of over a decade, Kandy Isley, paid tribute to their only son, Ronald Isley Jr., who turned 13 last month. The doting mom penned a heartwarming note to her new teenager and shared a family photo in honor of the occasion.

Ron and Kandy’s relationship didn’t start on the brightest note in terms of public scrutiny over their age difference. Still, the two lovebirds have remained together over the years and continue to disappoint naysayers.

In December, their only son celebrated his 13th birthday, and Kandy couldn’t help sharing a family photo featuring herself, the "Isley Brothers" legend, and Ronald Jr. bundled up in coats and smiling for the camera.

"Celebrating my son’s birthday! He’s officially a teenager!" Kandy gushed in the caption. "@ronald_isley_jr dad and mommy are so proud of you! You’re the best thing that ever happened to us!"

Several fans and well-wishers were in the comments with kind words for the family. "Happy birthday to your son," one Instagram user wrote while another added: "Happy Birthday, baby boy! Good job, mom, and dad."

Ron, 78, and Kandy, welcomed their son in 2006, one year after the couple tied the knot in what ILOSM describes as a "fairytale style wedding." Kandy, a background singer, is said to be 35 years younger than her husband, and that did not go unnoticed.

Ron and Kandy reportedly became hot topics for gossip, and the consensus among members of the public was that the latter married her husband for his money. Kandy’s reasons for marrying Ron, however, were much different.

"He's a gentleman!" she once said in a TV interview, via ILOSM. "I mean, you're talking about romance, he puts the 'R' in romance... from fine dining to treating a woman like a man should, with respect."

"As we developed a relationship, we had a lot of things in common, and Ronald," she added. "Even though he's older, he's young at heart." Kandy spoke like she was indeed in love with the "Contagious" crooner.

Through it all, Kandy stuck by her man, with whom she’ll celebrate 15 years of marriage in August 2020. Ron was previously married to Angela Winbush and Margret Tinsley, with whom he shares a daughter, Tia (born in 1969).
