Julianne Hough & Brooks Laich Reportedly Went on Couples Retreat before Relationship Went Sour

Keeping a relationship going can be hard work for any couple and Julianne Hough’s marriage isn’t any different. According to reports, the professional dancer is having marital problems.

According to “Us Weekly,” Hough, 31, and Brooks Laich, 36, went on a couple’s romantic getaway a month before their marital problems were confirmed. A source revealed that the couple went away to the recently opened Nobu Hotel Los Cabos in Mexico.

The ballroom dancer and her NHL player husband met up with Hough’s brother Derek Hough and his girlfriend, Hayley Erbert. The couple’s retreat occurred in November 2019.

The two couples weren’t alone as they were joined by “Dancing With the Stars” alum Brooke Burke and her boyfriend Scott Rigsby. The group enjoyed soaking up the sun while having drinks near their private cabanas.

Later on, the group joined Mario and Courtney Lopez, Erika Christensen and actress Dania Ramirez for dinner at Nobu restaurant. An insider revealed that Hough and Laich started going through problems last December.

Pro dancer spotted without ring

To make matters worse, on December 31, the professional dancer was seen without her wedding ring. At the time she was co-hosting NBC’s “New Year’s Eve” with Carson Daly.

Laich was also quite suspicious about his actions. On December 30, 2019, the athlete took to Instagram Stories with a lengthy and cryptic 2020 New Year’s resolution post.

Hough & hubby taking a break

In his post, he shared that he wanted to learn more about “intimacy and [his] sexuality.” A few weeks later, another insider revealed that the hockey player and Hough were taking some time apart.

The source explained:

“They have both been in different places for work so they haven’t been able to spend as much time together these past few months.”

Couple seen at the airport

On January 9, 2020, Hough and Laich appeared to be on better terms as they were seen together at the Hollywood Burbank Airport in Los Angeles. The athlete was still wearing his wedding ring.

Their interaction allegedly included him hugging Hough outside the airport before jumping into a car. On December 24, 2019, and January 3, 2020, the “Footloose” alum was seen without her ring in Instagram videos.
