NeNe Leakes Responds after Wendy Williams Revealed the RHOA Star's Text Saying She's Quitting the Show

NeNe Leakes fired back at Wendy Williams after the latter exposed their private conversations on her show. Williams claimed NeNe had plans of quitting her reality show and that she was keeping a heavy secret.

Nene Leakes must be contemplating trusting Wendy Williams again after the talk show host publicized their private text message.

During a recent episode of her show, Wendy revealed that NeNe texted her about her plans to quit “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”Shortly after, NeNe’s camp issued a statement addressing the bombshell revelation, and NeNe herself tweeted her disappointment, which seemed to be directed at Wendy.

FRIENDS LOST

NeNe has been making headlines recently due to her explosive altercations with her fellow housewives, particularly Kenya Moore. She also had a falling out with her best friend, Cynthia Bailey, who refuses to trust her anymore.

She admits it’s been painful in her part to be misjudged. She told People she was often “misinterpreted.” She added that because she’s “louder” and “moves more boldly,” people tend to point the finger at her.

SECRETS REVEALED

On her show on Tuesday, Wendy expressed her support for NeNe but also managed to disappoint her by revealing a private text between them. In between breaks, Williams claims she read a text from Leakes saying she was quitting her show.

NeNe and Wendy had just reconciled last summer after being at odds for years.

Moreover, Williams revealed to her guest, Jerry O'Connel that she knew a secret about NeNe. She urged the housewife to open up about it because it was a “huge weight” to carry. The outspoken host refused to spill the secret but said that it made her cry when she heard it straight from Leakes.

SHOTS FIRED

Shortly after Williams’ comments on television, NeNe responded with a selfie on her Instagram and the caption, "WHO SAID DAT?! #SMH.” And soon after, NeNe’s representative issued a statement to Today addressing Wendy’s claims that the reality star was quitting her show. The statement read,

"It's been an especially difficult couple of weeks for Nene, and she was venting to her friend in private correspondence. Nothing has been confirmed or officially decided for next season."

But NeNe’s most recent tweet carried a lot of disappointment. We suspect it was directed towards Wendy for exposing what was told to her in confidence. She wrote,

“Private conversations should be left in private! What are girlfriends for if you can’t vent to them on those type of days.”

FRIENDSHIP THREATENED

NeNe and Wendy had just reconciled last summer after being at odds for years. Their issues stemmed from Wendy calling NeNe tacky to reports suggesting Wendy sabotaged NeNe’s talk show. There were also rumors that NeNe had an affair with Wendy’s then-husband, Kevin Hunter, but NeNe denied this.

Last summer, Wendy and NeNe moved past their differences and even spent several girls’ trips together to rekindle their friendship. But with NeNe’s recent reaction to Wendy’s revelations about her, it’s not clear where their friendship stands now.
