Tamera Mowry Breaks down in Tears during 'The Real' as She Recalls Meeting Kobe Bryant on 'Sister, Sister'

An emotional Tamera Mowry shared details about the first time she met Kobe Bryant when he was only 19. She says he was "so focused" when he guested on her show, "Sister, Sister."

Tamera Mowry had her own fond memory of Kobe Bryant and it dates back to her days on the set of “Sister, Sister.” Kobe had just started playing with the NBA and an awestruck Tamera recalled admiring him for his many admirable traits.

A

narrated the events that transpired that day to her co-hosts on “The Real.” As a wife and mother, she also empathized with Kobe’s wife, Vanessa Bryant and their children he left behind.

WHAT SHE THOUGHT OF KOBE WHEN THEY MET

The 41-year-old star said she and Kobe were both 19 when she met him as the star of her sitcom with her sister, Tia Mowry. Kobe was a guest on the show.

She recalled thinking he was so tall. She was also unsure what to expect of him knowing he was this “big shot” who leaped from high school to the NBA. But Kobe proved that he was more than just a rising basketball star.

“I’ll never forget his humility. I’ll never forget his kindness," she said.

Tamera also recounted how nervous Kobe appeared trying to master his lines for the show.

“He had like one or two lines, but I remember, I was like, ‘Dang, he’s so focused.”

Fans are still in disbelief as they grapple with Kobe’s death. Tweets have been pouring in remembering and honoring the man who inspired them through his stellar career and commitment to his family.

FEELING FOR VANESSA

Tamera became even more emotional when she spoke of Kobe’s family and the pain that they must be going through. “She lost two people,” she said, referring to Vanessa. “She has to grieve her husband and her daughter. It just breaks my heart.”

Because of the tragedy, Tamera believes now more than ever that “life is fragile.” She tells her audience to live in the moment because that’s all we’re promised.

“This is all we’ve got. This moment right here…So tell your loved ones you love them."

REMEMBERING KOBE

Kobe’s death shocked the world because of how tragic it was. His private helicopter crashed while taking him, his daughter, Gianna, and six other people to his Mamba Academy. All passengers including the pilot perished.

Fans are still in disbelief as they grapple with Kobe’s death. Tweets have been pouring in remembering and honoring the man who inspired them through his stellar career and commitment to his family.

At the Staples Center where Kobe spent most of his 20-year basketball career with the Lakers, fans have been gathering, bringing with them flowers, candles, and Kobe memorabilia. Elsewhere, vigils are being held and all sorts of tributes from giant murals to buildings switching its lights to purple and yellow, Kobe’s team colors.

The investigation is still ongoing to determine the actual cause of the crash. With the absence of a black box, authorities have requested the public and witnesses to submit any photos and videos from that day that may help them figure out what actually happened. Weather is being suspected as one of the factors that may have been at play due to the heavy fog at the time of the crash.
