According to a TMZ report, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are devastated that they had to lose their Commonwealth Youth Ambassador Titles as part of the deal they struck with the Queen for “Megxit.”

Sources close to the royal couple revealed to the publication that Harry and Meghan were shocked that the monarch took something so important from them.

As though it wasn’t enough that they would lose their royal highness titles and repay taxpayers for their Frogmore Cottage home renovation, Harry and Meghan also have to say goodbye to one of their beloved positions.

The insider noted that the Sussexes didn’t expect things to get so intense. However, “the Queen drew a hard line in the sand, and they had to surrender the role.”

During their time as youth ambassadors of the 53 nations included in the commonwealth, Harry and Meghan had the responsibility of empowering young people in those countries to tackle the problems of their generations.

Cosmopolitan notes that Prince Harry was appointed the role before he tied the knot to Meghan in 2018. The former actress wasted no time in joining him shortly before their wedding.

The role was so important to her that she embroidered on her wedding veil the flowers of all the 53 nations of the commonwealth.

Despite the Queen’s conclusion, Screenrant reports that Harry and Meghan’s Sussex Royal website still has a section dedicated to their duties as youth ambassadors.

Although it might seem as though the odds are stacked against Harry and Meghan now that they are independent of the royal family, television producer Harvey Levin revealed to Fox News that the couple would have no problem making money for themselves.

Having attended the 10th Annual One Young World opening ceremony on Tuesday, The Duchess of Sussex was joined today by The Duke of Sussex for a round table discussion on gender equity with OYW and Queen’s Commonwealth Trust young leaders. Over the last few days, these young leaders became @OneYoungWorld ambassadors with the intention to return to their communities and further existing initiatives to help change the world for the better. This year OYW partnered with the @Queens_Commonwealth_Trust, of which The Duke and Duchess are President and Vice-President respectively, to provide scholarships to young leaders driving positive social impact in the Commonwealth. This was the most exciting collaboration between two groups The Duchess is passionate about and has been working with for some time. Levin went on to disclose that he believes Harry and Meghan will become billionaires just like Barack and Michelle Obama.

This revelation comes after PEOPLE reported that Prince William was granted a new title amid his brother’s exit.

The Duke of Cambridge was appointed as the new Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.

Today The Duke of Cambridge, President of @unitedforwildlife, attended the second joint meeting of the United for Wildlife Taskforces. Since their formation, the Transport and Financial Taskforces have supported over 70 law investigations, contributed to 18 trafficker arrests and played a key role in disrupting a major international ivory, rhino horn and heroin syndicate in East Africa. Today’s meeting, at which both The Duke and President Kenyatta of Kenya spoke, provided an opportunity to lay the foundations for the next phase of action in the Taskforce’s work to make it impossible to use private sector infrastructure to facilitate the financing and transportation of Illegal Wildlife Trade (IWT) products. Speaking on the Taskforces' work and achievements so far, The Duke said: • "Everything that you do to root out corruption, improve your processes and techniques, and flag suspicious activity to law enforcement, helps make this trade too risky for criminals to stomach. • This commitment from the transport and financial sectors is crucial because sadly the demand for wildlife products has not diminished. • I am delighted to welcome all of those new members here today. Please, please bring new ideas to the table, maintain and increase our momentum, and play your part in ending this abhorrent crime." • Photos 📷 by PA / Kensington Palace. #EndWildlifeCrime
