In the heels of Kobe Bryant’s passing, Tamera Mowry shared with her co-hosts on “The Real” that she first met the basketball star when he was a guest on her show, “Sister, Sister.”

Tamera described the then 19-year-old Kobe as “so focused” and not what she expected him to be. Following that revelation, Tamera shared on her Instagram a clip from the show where Kobe appears as a heartthrob.

NOT WHAT SHE IMAGINED

Tamera recalled being in awe of how tall Kobe was when she first met him. With only two lines to master, she said Kobe was focused to get it right.

She was also surprised by how kind and humble the late legend was. Not what she imagined him to be considering he was a rising star in the NBA at the time.

Kobe left behind his wife, Vanessa and their three daughters, Natalia, Bianka and Capri who’ve been reeling from their family’s loss. For days, Vanessa remained silent. But on Wednesday, three days after the crash, Vanessa switched her private social media profile to public and broke her silence.

A SHY KOBE ON "SISTER, SISTER"

As a tribute to Kobe, Tamera unearthed the clip from “Sister, Sister” when Kobe was a guest. In the clip, she and her twin sister, Tia Mowry are marveling at an autographed photo of Kobe who portrays himself. They plan to brag about the photo in school.

The following day, as they convince others in school of their connection to Kobe, the real Kobe appears in the hallways. He seems shy and had no lines in the clip.

“I have been such a fan for so many years, and he will be deeply missed,” Tamera wrote to caption the clip.

“They were our beautiful blessings taken from us too soon. I’m not sure what our lives hold beyond today, and it’s impossible to imagine life without them. But we wake up each day, trying to keep pushing because Kobe, and our baby girl, Gigi, are shining on us to light the way.”

Vanessa added that she wished she could kiss and hug Kobe and Gianna and have them forever. She also thanked everyone for their prayers and support.

Vanessa turned off her comments section but that didn’t keep celebrities from extending their support through social media. Stars like Ellen DeGeneres, LaLa Anthony, Nene Leakes, Cindy Crawford, and Danielle Fishelle reiterated their condolences and expressed their heartfelt grief.

Vanessa made no mention of plans for her family's memorial or funeral. There were recent headlines suggesting a preliminary meeting was held by organizers and the Los Angeles Coliseum is being considered as the venue for the memorial. No date has been set with respect to the family who must still be in deep mourning.
