When asked about what part of the character she related to most, the actress said:
“I like her struggle to fit in and find out what humanity was and how to be a part of that again. What I like now, playing her on the new series, is that she’s still kind of trying to figure out where she fits in and make sense of what humanity, and other races, are still doing to each other.”
In 2007, Ryan married Christophe Eme, a French chef, during an intimate ceremony in the 15th century Chateau de Noirieux. The two own Ortolan restaurant in Los Angeles, where Eme is the executive chef.
Gibbs’ most recent wife, Stephanie Flynn, was played by Oscar-nominated Kathleen York. The actress’ other roles include Congresswoman Andrea Wyatt in “The West Wing” and Naomi Judd in “Naomi & Wynonna: Love Can Build a Bridge.”
She also appeared in “Northern Lights,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “True Blood,” “In the Dark,” and “O.C.”

To add to her list of careers, York is also a screenwriter and alumni of The Showrunner’s Training Program and has written many pilot episodes of television shows.
