During a recent appearance on Australia's Channel Seven's "Sunrise," Nicole Kidman responded to speculation about her dramatic hairstyle at the Met Gala earlier this month. The 57-year-old actress cleared up questions about whether her striking cut was real and explained the reasons behind another recent hair transformation.
In the interview, Kidman talked about her Met Gala appearance, where she sported a two-tone pixie cut with a side part and long bangs.
Many fans suspected the bold style was a wig, and the actress confirmed it was. "Everyone's like, 'Did you chop your hair off?' I'm like, 'No, I did not,'" she said.
Kidman, known for dramatically shifting her hairstyles for film and television, also discussed her new look for the second season of Hulu's "Nine Perfect Strangers," which premiered on May 21.
Her character, Masha Dmitrichenko, returns with an icy blond bob and blunt bangs. The actress said Masha always has to reinvent herself, and the updated style reflects that evolution. "She needed to come in and go, 'Okay,'" Kidman explained, noting that she herself adores changing hairdos.
Sitting beside her during the interview, co-star Murray Bartlett called the transformation "epic" and added that there were gasps on set when she walked in. Kidman added, "[She's] coming in [like a] boss."

However, offscreen, the actress recently showed fans a glimpse of her natural hair in photos from a trip to the French Riviera.
In the Instagram post captioned, "❤️ Côte d'Azur," Nicole Kidman appeared relaxed and carefree, her real hair softly tousled by the breeze. And in a few shots, she went back to her natural curly style.
