Yara Shahidi gushes as she sees a mural of herself. A video of her reaction was shared by the actress who captioned it, "Love."
Young actress and activist Yara Shahidi has already carved her own name as a woman of power but she’s still in awe by how successful she is. Case in point, she was humbled seeing a wall-sized portrait of herself in a clip she shared recently.

YOUNG AND POWERFUL
If you’re a fan of the 20-year-old who rose to fame as the star of the series, “Black-ish,” and its spinoff, “Grown-ish” then you know that this young woman isn’t just an actress. She’s also a student at Harvard and quite the political activist.
Other women of power look up to her from the likes of Michelle Obama to Oprah Winfrey to Meghan Markle. Michelle wrote a letter of recommendation for her Harvard application. Oprah thinks she’s future president material. While Meghan tapped her to be one of the cover stars for her editorial debut in Vogue last year.
LARGER THAN LIFE
Yara is many things but she’s also someone who simply delights in seeing her face splashed on a wall and appreciates it. A few days back, she posted a clip that she tagged from “My Second Home.” In it, she’s walking towards a wall that featured large images of herself.
The wall featured two close up images of a stunning Yara with big hair...
“I feel so loved guys,” the actress says as she walks closer to the black and white mural to admire it, her back against the camera. To reiterate her emotions, she captioned her clip, “Love” with two heart emojis on each end.
The wall featured two close up images of a stunning Yara with big hair, one where she’s facing front and the other in a side view. It appeared to be a wall of an office. A logo with the initials “ff” was splashed all over the images.
CHIC FOR A CAUSE
The Yara who stood in front of the mural wore braided pigtails, a white t-shirt, and colorfully-striped pants. It was a stark contrast to the Yara who watched the Broadway play, “Tina: The Tina Turner Musical” earlier this month.
Yara looked chic in a light grey androgynous suit with a black turtleneck when she attended the affair which also had a cocktail reception hosted by Vogue’s Anna Wintour. It was for the benefit of the anti-sexual violence organization, RAINN. (Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network).
The event was well attended and included the likes of Billy Porter, Zac Posen, and Christian Siriano. The musical, produced by Tina Turner and her husband, Erwin Bach was launched in November and depicts the singer’s life from her early childhood to her career comeback. It also sheds light on her violent marriage to Ike Turner.
