Although she has been dating Alex Rodriguez for more than two years and has been engaged to him for a year, Jennifer Lopez has made it clear that she is in no hurry to walk down the aisle.

The revelation came while the actress was speaking to Oprah Winfrey at the TV personality's "2020 Vision: Your Life In Focus Tour," per a People report.

During her conversation with Oprah, Jennifer explained that since she and Alex intend to be together forever, there was no rush to get married. She explained her decision saying:

"I said, ‘If we’re going to be together for the rest of our lives, what is the rush?’ If that’s what we’re really going to do, if we’re really going to be partners."

She also pointed if she and her men were going to build a family, which they have never done before, then they had to "show them it's something that we didn't have."

Although it would be recalled that Jennifer has been married three times in the past, Daily Mail reported that the "Dinero" singer claimed that her relationship with Alex was "different" from her previous ones. While explaining what she meant, Jennifer said:

"He wants to build together, which I've never had. I never had anybody who wants to see me shine and grow and be."

In addition to that, Alex is a reportedly good father to the actress's son, Max as he had a lot of patience when it came to the 12-year-old twin.

Some of that patience might have come from the fact that Alex has two children of his own, Natasha and Ella, whom he shares with his ex, Cynthia Scurtis.

News of Jennifer and Alex's relationship became public after Us Magazine confirmed that the duo were an item in March 2017.

Two months after that report, the "Second Act" actress and the 44-year-old retired New York Yankees star made their first red carpet appearance at the Met Gala.

The most recent sighting of the couple occurred after she and Shakira had performed at the Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show, which was held at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium.

According to ET Online, the 50-year-old had hosted a party of her own aboard a yacht, which saw her dancing like she had no worries in the world.
