Kim Kardashian on Why She Felt 'No Rush' to Find Love Again

Kim Kardashian spent five years mostly on her own before meeting Lewis Hamilton. Now she's sharing what that time was really like for her in a new interview.

Kim Kardashian was happy during the time she was single before meeting Lewis Hamilton, telling The Sunday Times Style in a new interview that she didn’t feel empty. In fact, that stretch of time allowed her to focus on herself and her family.

"I was really single for five years," the Skims co-founder revealed. "And that felt great. I could focus on my kids and projects that I really wanted to be involved with." Kardashian also said she didn’t feel pressured to be in a relationship, explaining, "I really felt no rush. Like, I really didn't feel empty."

According to Kardashian, she needed that time to “completely heal” and work on herself, adding, “I wasn't ready to open up. I really wasn't even thinking about it. The universe works in your favor when you just allow it to."

It’s been five years since Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West in 2021 after almost seven years of marriage. Though she was mostly single that time, she briefly dated Pete Davidson, who was first linked to her in October 2021 following an on-screen kiss during her hosting debut on “Saturday Night Live.”

They split in August 2022 after about nine months, with a source telling People at the time that it was due to their busy schedules. Another source also said Davidson was "exactly what Kim needed after her divorce," someone who could make her laugh and have fun.

Kim Kardashian’s focus has remained on her four children, North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7, describing herself as an "intermediate-strict parent." Being present for them meant taking them to school and picking them up every day, having dinner with them, and reading to them every night.

Kardashian says the years since have brought her more confidence. "There's definitely something about being in your forties that gives you this extra confidence," she said. "You know your path, and that feels good."

During her interview with The Sunday Times, the 45-year-old reality star chose to stay mum about her current relationship with Hamilton, 41. When asked whether she would talk about it, she answered, "In the most respectful way, I'd probably rather not." The Sunday Times noted that the two had not made a public statement about the relationship at the time of writing.

People reported that Kardashian and Hamilton were first linked in February 2026, when they were spotted in Paris together, and they confirmed their relationship in April when Hamilton shared a video of them driving in his Ferrari in Tokyo. In a separate post in August, he shared images of them on the beach, and in September, he also shared images of them biking together and going on date nights.
