Syleena Johnson has a rich musical heritage. Her father was R&B singer "Soul Man" Syl Johnson, and he helped plant the seed of a singing career when she was three.

The young Johnson soon outgrew her father's small home studio and went for the spotlight. At 22, she joined the "Jive Label," and the rest, they say, is history.

Those who have tried to lose weight know how much of a challenge it can be, and the singer's experience was no exception. She, with the support of her fans, had to go on a full eight months ride.

The singer, who ended up winning the "NPC Texas Cup," documented her weight loss experience in a social media documentary called "From One Stage to the Next." She also revealed the most significant challenges of her weight loss program:

"Oh my God, cheese and wine. Those two were it right there. Cheese and wine and not getting enough sleep. Sleep is very, very important when you're training, and it's hard to find that extra sleep."

Speaking with "Page Six," the "Woman" record producer said the artiste's music had nothing to do with the sexual abuse charges against him.

The performer asked that people learn to receive inspiration from the accused artiste's music without feeling like they are supporting his crime.

Johnson had collaborated with R Kelly in the past to write and produce some of her hits, including "I Am Your Woman" and "Guess What."
