Gayle King Rehashes with BFF Oprah Winfrey How She Discovered Ex-husband Cheating on Her with a Friend

While King rocked an elegant look, which included a knee-length dress and a pair of stilettos, Oprah looked smart in a matching jacket and pants outfit.

[Gayle King] made it known that although the divorce was a painful one, she and Bumpus were able to work out a suitable parenting style for their kids.

After receiving a warm welcome from her close pal, the "Cover Cover" alum got straight to the point as she revealed details surrounding her failed marriage, which led to an eventual divorce.

In 1994, King went through a draining divorce, and she had her friend, Oprah Winfrey, with her all the way. King's divorce did a number on her, and at a point, she wanted to get back with her ex-hubby.

According to Madamenoire, Gayle made it known that she found it difficult to tell her kids that she and her hubby were getting separated. She said on the live show:

"What had happened was, we were moving from one house to another, and I did say that 'Daddy has to go into the other house because there's a burglar..."

Basically, "The Gayle King Show" host had to fabricate a story for her little kids at the time. At this point, Oprah chipped in on how proud she was of her good friend, who was able to handle the cheating issues and divorce.

People shares that King once sat in an interview with Vanity Fair, where she answered the question about the "person [she] despises the most."

According to her, despise was a strong word, but she would never forget the lousy divorce with her ex-hubby, William Bumpus, due to infidelity.

As reported by Cheatsheet, the NBC star made it known that although the divorce was a painful one, she and Bumpus were able to work out a suitable parenting style for their kids.

The two were able to get along while raising their children. E Online shares that there was a turn of events in 2016 after William Bumpus issued a public apology to his ex-wife, Gayle King.

In his statement, Bumpus praised King for being able to work out the right parenting style for the children while seeing to it that he was a part of their lives while the kids were little.
