The late dog's owner, Steve Solomon of Good Dog Animals, told People that the 9-year-old was an "incredible little dog" whom they couldn't thank enough for the effort she put into "working her butt off" for the nine seasons she appeared on the show.

Steve, who explained that Beatrice had passed on due to producing fluid around her heart, added that:

"Never thought she would be the star that she was. She ended up proving herself to be a great puppy on that show. Ed O'Neill loved her to death just like the creators..."

Beatrice, who had undergone surgery to rectify the issue with her heart, had been revived after she first went into cardiac arrest during the procedure. However, the same wasn't the case when those in the theater lost her again.

Soon after they received news of her passing, stars of the mockumentary family sitcom took to their various social media pages to pay their tribute. TV Line reported that Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who plays Jay's son Mitchell on the ABC series, shared a tweet with the words:

"Rest In Peace sweet Beatrice. We love you so much."
