Ciara & Russell Wilson Donate 1 Million Meals through Local Seattle Food Bank Amid COVID-19 Outbreak

Ciara and Russell Wilson have joined the list of celebrities offering help to those around them during the ongoing novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Ciara and her husband, Russell Wilson, have shown their humanitarian side amid the ongoing novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as they recently pledged to donate meals.

According to People, the couple had announced through Instagram that they would be donating one million meals to a local food bank to help in relief efforts amid the virus outbreak.

Before Ciara and Russell's announcement, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, had also pledged fifteen thousand meals to Harvesters Community Food Network.

Russell began the clip by stating that he knew how the coronavirus outbreak was "changing the world second by second, minute by minute."

The NFL star went on to note that people were losing their loved ones before his wife said that they wanted to encourage people to help out in whatever way that they could. Still speaking on the issue, the expectant mother stated:

"Together, we will conquer this tough time we are going through," to which her husband responded, "We will."

The duo ended the video by stating that even though they were keeping everybody in prayers, their followers had to "keep the faith" and "practice social distancing" during the ongoing crisis.

ESPN added that the couple had disclosed that they were collaborating with Seattle's Food Lifeline to make their intentions to donate meals, a reality.

The sports outlet also stated that Seattle's Food Lifeline's website made it clear that it dispenses food to more than three hundred food banks, shelters, and meal programs throughout Western Washington.

Before Ciara and Russell's announcement, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, had also pledged fifteen thousand meals to Harvesters Community Food Network.

The quarterback had taken to Twitter to declare that he, in collaboration with his foundation, would be pledging $100,000 to organizations in Kansas City, Missouri, that had been affected by the outbreak.

It should be noted that Western Washington has been struck the hardest by the outbreak with the Washington State Department of Health's website listing 1,012 coronavirus cases as of March 17.
