SELF(IE) QUARANTINE

Zoe is currently staying home like the majority of the world is doing these days to combat the threat of the Coronavirus. She shared a photo of her on quarantine which prompted a fan to inquire about her light skin.

The photo Zoe shared which she described in her caption as a “self(ie) quarantine” pic featured her and her furry dog. She also reminds her followers to “stay inside” and take things “one day at a time” in her caption.

CLAPPING BACK TO A FAN

But one fan was more intrigued about Zoe’s complexion which registered lighter than she’s used to. The fan asked,

“Am I wrong or she is looking so white in this picture, please don’t tell me you are getting ready [rid] of your melanin, you are so beautiful with your natural color."

Not wanting the fan to judge her any further, Zoe replied denying her accusation. She wrote,

“jesus. no girl. this is what happens to some of us mixed kids when we can’t go outside lol.”

The show which she’s also executive produces is based on a 1995 novel which was adapted in a movie in 2000. The lead character Rob was played then by John Cusack. Ironically, Zoe’s mother, Lisa Bonet, played one of John’s love interests in the film.

HER REAL-LIFE ROMANCE

Unlike Zoe’s television role, her real life sees her in a successful relationship that landed her at the altar. Zoe married actor Karl Glusman in June 2019. Speaking to Elle in January, she gushed about how safe she feels with Karl.

“The best part of being married is being able to have the odd fight and knowing neither of us is going to walk out the door. The commitment feels safe.”

Zoe's mother, Lisa and her husband, Jason Momoa were also present for the occasion.
