Now, a year after, fans remember the music, words of wisdom, and community efforts that he contributed to the world before his passing, hoping to keep it alive for generations to come.
In the past couple of months, people and different organizations have been paying tribute to Hussle and his contributions especially to Los Angeles. It all began with many murals and messages of mourning during the time of his death, before people gathered in the Staples Center to bid him one last goodbye.
Since then, he's been given tributes in many other events, such as the Grammy Awards among many others. A group of strangers in Los Angeles also started a book club in his name called the "Marathon Book Club," where black men from around the county come together and discuss the books that Nipsey had read.
The Grammy-nominated rapper was killed while two others were wounded at the time of the shooting. Although Nipsey was rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival. He was only 33-years-old.
Nipsey, known in real life as Ermias Joseph Asghedom, left behind his long-time girlfriend, Lauren London, and his two children, Emani and Kross.
Although he didn't leave them behind with nothing and they ended up with a hefty amount after their father's death, they will have to continue growing up without their loving dad who was close to both of them.
Despite this, the rest of the Asghedom family along with Lauren are trying their best to cope and do what is best for the two children.
