Fantasia Barrino of 'American Idol' Shares Video of Son Dallas Showing off His Science Project Amid Quarantine
R&B singer, Fantasia, makes home-schooling fun for her eight-year-old son with a water bottle rocket experiment.
The singer recently shared an adorable video of her son, Dallas Xavier, whom she shares with Antwaun Cook.

The eight-year-old looked excited and curious, pumping air into the bottle filled mid-way with water as he waited for the bottle rocket to Launch into the air.
[Fantasia Barrino] was a troubled teen who dropped out of High school when the harassment from her peers after a classmate raped her became unbearable.
Dallas is Fantasia’s second child and first son. Before his birth in 2011, the American Idol winner had described him as God’s gift to her.
Although the little boy was born amidst controversial rumors surrounding her relationship with Antwaun Cook, Fantasia was grateful for the new addition to her family and thanked her fans for their well wishes and continued support.
Fantasia, who is now married to Businessman, Kendall Taylor, has come a long way from where she used to be.
She was in a bleak place before she won the American Idol season 3 in 2004, and a few years after the win, she attempted suicide following tabloid stories about her weight, financial health, and her role in the Cooks’ divorce.
In a 2019 interview with Essence, Fantasia opened up about how meeting her Husband helped groom her into the woman, parent, and artist that she is today. The 36-year old said:
“I will have to say kudos to [my husband], because when he came into my life, he brought out a Fantasia that I didn’t even know was there,”
She described how she reflected and took the much needed time to realize who she was and let go of some unhealthy traits.

Also, birthing her first daughter at 16, Fantasia depended solely on the American Welfare system after her estrangement from her family.
Upon winning the American Idol with her debut song, “I believe,” Fantasia signed to J-records with 19 Entertainment and began work on her debut album, which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
Fantasia released her sixth album “sketchbook” last year. An album she describes as “a massive journey of so many great and bad things, but all necessary.” Stating that she felt like a little girl, again, who was doing it {making music} over, this time the right way.

The Chicago Tribune describes the newly evolved Fantasia as being in a “calmer, happier place,” surrounded with love from her husband, her daughter, her son, and her step-son with his wife and two children.
