NBC, ABC and CBS Unite for Historic Global Fundraiser in the Fight against COVID-19

Three competing television networks, NBC, ABC, and CBS, along with others, will have a live broadcast of the "One World: Together At Home" event to support the fight against COVID-19.

In recent weeks, the world has seen the worst amid the deadly coronavirus pandemic that claimed thousands of lives.

However, many have also seen the best in humanity as various organizations, groups, and individuals, extend their helping hand to support the fight against COVID-19.

FIGHT FOR LIFE

As countries unite in a bid to curb the spread of the deadly pandemic, a global special "One World: Together At Home" will take place on April 18, 2020.

Global Citizen and the World Health Organization announced the event, which will be broadcast live on NBC, ABC, CBS, iHeartMedia, Bell Media, and several other networks.

BBC One will premiere the program internationally on April 19, with other broadcasters such as RTE, MultiChoice Group, and beIN Media Group.

The program will show the unity of different people from different walks of life who are affected by the virus while supporting and cheering for the frontline workers who are risking their lives to save others.

The live broadcast on television will be hosted by talk show hosts Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy Fallon.

"ONE WORLD: TOGETHER AT HOME"

The virtual broadcast will also have online streaming on several platforms, including YouTube, Yahoo, Twitch, Instagram, Facebook, Apple, Amazon Prime Video, Alibaba, TIDAL, and several others.

During WHO's announcement of the event, Lady Gaga noted that $35 million was raised in a week to support the pandemic relief efforts, with both corporate and philanthropic donations.

More information about donations will be shared in the broadcast, as well as stories from different medical workers who have been in front of the battle. Hugh Evans, founder and CEO of Global Citizen, said:

"I hope that we, as a shared humanity, emerge from this moment forever grateful for the work of doctors, nurses, teachers, grocery store workers, and all of those who are the backbone."

He further emphasized that "One World: Together At Home" aims to encourage and give hope to people around the globe during this trying time. He added:

"Through music, entertainment, and impact, the global live-cast will celebrate those who risk their own health to safeguard everyone else's."

SPECIAL APPEARANCES

The event's lineup will feature Lady Gaga, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Andrea Bocelli, Chris Martin, Elton John, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, and many more.

Celebrities will also make special appearances, including Idris and Sabrina Elba, David Beckham, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Kerry Washington, and several others.

The live broadcast on television will be hosted by talk show hosts Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy Fallon.
