Relaying the recommendations set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as they continue to study the virus and it's spread, Melania wrote:

"They're recommending that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings where social distancing measures can be difficult to maintain."

Avoiding any misinformation, Melania made it clear that face masks do not replace the need for social distancing, but that it is an additional "recommended guideline" for everyone's safety.

"I ask that everyone take social distancing & wearing a mask/face covering seriously. #COVID19 can spread to anyone."

The same week, the CDC added the recommendation of "simple cloth face coverings" in addition to the social distance rule of keeping 6 feet apart.

Last month, Melania started her series of posts about the coronavirus during a public service announcement wherein she addressed the impact of the coronavirus on Americans.

Assuring followers that "this is not how we'll live forever," Melania said that life as we once knew it would return, and that we have to keep that in our sights while staying connected to our loved ones in the process.

The posting of Melania's PSA came during the same time as President Donald Trump's briefing about the coronavirus at the White House.

Recently, Melania Trump also reached out with a heartfelt message of appreciation toward the healthcare workers who work tirelessly on the frontlines of the disease.

Praising the medical personnel for their efforts, Melania credited them for Americans receiving the health care they need amid the coronavirus pandemic due to their "courageous and compassionate efforts."
