Al Roker's Wife Deborah Says Easter Was Different but Hopeful as Daughter Courtney Gets Engaged

Al Roker's wife, Deborah Roberts, admitted to making a lot of changes for Easter this year and detailed how her family was able to keep up with their Easter Sunday traditions amid the pandemic.

Deborah Roberts, a news correspondent, and wife to Al Roker, recently shared an uplifting message about how her family, along with millions of people around the world are managing amid the COVID-19 outbreak, she shared:

"Sunday smiles. A different kind of Easter this year. But no less joyful or hopeful."

In a picture she shared, her family were dressed in formal church clothes fit for a Sunday service. Deborah said they took advantage of the virtual experiences available to them while under quarantine and streamed their Easter church service, she wrote:

"Quarantine is offering up blessings and new discoveries. We sure miss Leila and Courtney but a virtual visit helped connect us."

The family also enjoyed brunch and were treated scrambled eggs cooked by her son, Nicholas. Al shared a video of his family standing in their living room in front of their television watching an Easter Sunday service.

The Roker family appeared deep in worship as they lifted their hands in the air to the song. In his caption, Al revealed, "and I Will Raise Him Up. Happy Easter. This was my mother, Isabel's favorite Easter hymn."

The Roker family's Easter celebration came only hours before Al shared the exciting news that his daughter, Courtney Roker, was engaged to her boyfriend, Wesley Laga.

In his post, the proud father admitted that he had been anxiously waiting for the couple's approval to share their news, and said he was "thrilled" about their engagement.

It is reported, Wesley had planned on proposing to Courtney during a romantic getaway in Paris, France. However, the travel restrictions forced him to propose to her at home.

Al's co-hosts at "Today," including Savannah Guthrie, Natalie Morales, and Dylan Dreyer, joined in celebrating the exciting news about his daughter's upcoming nuptials.

, Al said the Courtney and Wesley had not set a date for their wedding because of the uncertainty behind the future of the COVID-19 pandemic.
