Alex Trebek of 'Jeopardy!' to Publish Inspiring Memoir Amid Cancer Battle

Game show host Alex Trebek is set to release a book titled "The Answer Is… Reflections On My Life" in a few months despite being in a fierce battle with cancer.

Alex Trebek has a whole lot of determination. He is currently suffering from stage IV pancreatic cancer, but this has not stopped him from completing his memoir.

The book which retails for $25 will be available for purchase on Amazon by July 21, 2019. The cover shows a portrait of Alex.

Alex is a host on a Gameshow called "Jeopardy!" and his illness has never stopped him from hosting the show. Trebek sometimes gets very tired during the show, but he gets it all together in about 10 minutes, and he is back to normal.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic has stopped him from hosting the game show because "Jeopardy!" has had to announce a hiatus due to the escalating pandemic.

In an interview with Closer Weekly, his friend Ruta Lee revealed that he is handling the situation quite well. Alex is keeping himself busy by fixing things around the house with the collection of tools he got from buying out a hardware store, which was about to close down. Ruta said:

"He knows how to do plumbing; he knows how to do carpentry, electrical work. He loves to read. So he's OK, He knows how to do…"

Trebek is a generous man, as shown by what he did for the hardware store, and his good deeds do not end there.

Alex donated a whopping sum of 100 thousand dollars to a home shelter in Los Angeles. In an interview with PEOPLE, the show host explained his action:

"Homelessness is a serious problem. I wanted to do something, so I researched this charity, visited their facility, and…"

Keeping busy is not the only thing that has been helping the 79-year-old get through the days at home. His wife, Jean, has also been helping out a lot.

Alex says waging war against cancer would have been impossible without Jean by his side. Jean is very supportive of her husband.

She puts a smile on his face during dark days and is even trying sound healing to cure her husband of cancer. The two have been married since 1990, and their love for each other is still strong.

Born on July 22, 1940, Alex has had a very successful life so far. He has won multiple awards, including 6 Daytime Emmys and one Peabody award.
