Toya Johnson's Daughter Reginae Heartbroken after Split with YFN Lucci

A heartbroken Reginae Carter opened up about YFN Lucci's lack of respect for her which led to their relationship's end.

It’s been months since Reginae Carter split from her on-and-off boyfriend, YFN Lucci. And while she’s trying to move on from that chapter in her life, Reginae recently rehashed her heartbreak and what led to the end of their romance.

"I feel like it’s not respectful for a man who’s in a relationship to be there. It’s certain things that you just don’t do, especially dating me.”

WHY SHE BROKE UP WITH LUCCI

In an episode of “T.I. & Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle” the 21-year-old daughter of Toya Johnson and Lil Wayne got candid about her mature decision to leave Lucci in spite of her immense feelings for him. The reality star said it all boiled down to his loss of respect for her and the feeling that she deserved more.

Reginae admitted that in the midst of her on-and-off relationship with Lucci, it came to a point when she realized he didn’t have as much respect for her as he had at the start of their union.

The final straw came when she discovered the up and coming rapper attended a sexually explicit party now infamously dubbed as the “cucumber party.” She felt he had no business being there while in a relationship with her. She explained,

“Of course, the cucumber party was the last straw for me. I feel like it’s not respectful for a man who’s in a relationship to be there. It’s certain things that you just don’t do, especially dating me.”

MOVING ON WITH HER MOTHER'S BLESSING

Reginae confessed, "I'm still going through my little heartbreak," but also admits she’s “in a healthy space mentally.”

Her mother, Toya, was equally pleased with her daughter’s decision to move on from that relationship. Following the August 2019 breakup, Toya expressed that she only wanted what was best for her child.

WHY TOYA DIDN'T APPROVE OF LUCCI

It was no secret that Toya had apprehensions about Reginae dating Lucci especially because the latter was a lot older than her daughter. Reginae is eight years younger than Lucci who also has four kids.

Toya was concerned that her single daughter would end up becoming a stepmom to a rapper’s kids. She was also speaking from her experience dating Reginae’s father who was also a rapper and the crazy lifestyle that came with.

It’s a good thing Toya’s advice rubbed off on Reginae who seems to have a good head on her shoulders when it comes to decisions of the heart. Here’s hoping Reginae finds the perfect man who would respect her and give her what she deserves.
