Billy Porter Shares Rare Photo With Sister Mary Martha on National Siblings Day

The Pose star is having some good time at home, amid coronavirus pandemic and he is sharing it with his fans on social media. Photos and videos on fashion challenges and step-by-step haircuts are on his feed.

The policy of social distancing due to coronavirus pandemic is leading most people to stay more in touch with their loved ones. Such is the case of Tony Award-winning actor, Billy Porter, who recently took to Instagram to share a photo of him with his sister, Mary Martha.

The image he posted to celebrate National Siblings Day, shows both of them in very glamorous outfits, standing next to each other with big and candid smiles, showing how close they are as siblings. He captioned the photo with this text:

HAIRDO TIME

Quarantine time has also led people to make some mistakes when it comes to haircuts. Professional barber, Xavier Cruz, founder of Barba Men's Grooming Boutique in NYC, noticed that, so he invited Billy for a “Quarancut” on streaming.

The Instagram video called “Quarancuts Virtual Hair School”, featured Billy and his husband Adam Porter-Smith. The idea was having Xavier give on-line instructions to Bill on how to give his partner a step-by-step haircut at home.

In the end, they went through it successfully, and both even got their own personalized certificates for completing the first "Quarancut." Billy for being an amateur barber, and Adam for being brave enough to let his husband cut his hair.

Xavier’s professional point of view on people getting haircuts due to their free time at home worries him. So he suggests his followers, and anyone, to get virtual advice from their stylists so that they can try better haircuts at home to not regret it later.

FASHION CHALLENGES

In the attempt to make the most out of social distancing and having some fun, the also Grammy and Emmy award-winning actor is putting up some challenges on his social media. And as we all would expect, fashion is the main subject.

In March, Billy called his followers to participate in a virtual fashion challenge, where they had to recreate the outfit he wore for the 2019 Met Gala red carpet designed by The Blonds. It included a golden bejeweled catsuit with 10-foot wings.

Later this month, he called a second challenge that he named “Couch Potato Realness”, encouraging his fans to shoot themselves in a runway walk wearing an outfit that looks closer to how they dress every day amid quarantine.

Billy posted a clip of himself walking his own runway, wearing the Giles Deacon Couture outfit he wore to the 2020 Oscars. He captioned the video:
