Diona Reasonover, the actress who plays Kasie Hines on the popular crime series "NCIS," has quickly won over the fans' hearts.

Her own heart is safely in the keeping of her lovely wife, Patricia Villetto, who is an Irish-born actress and writer.

Patricia is a respected comedy screenwriter, and has worked on the "Kung Fu Panda" TV series

"NCIS" NEW FORENSIC SCIENTIST

Diona had some big shoes to fill in "NCIS." She was offered the part of the teams' new forensic scientist when Pauley Perrette quit the show after playing Abby Sciuto for over 15 years.

All in all a scary proposition, to take on the challenge of replacing one of TV's most beloved characters, especially for a newlywed, adapting to married life.

There is some indication that Patricia had an alcohol-dependence problem in her past. In September 2019, Patricia shared a post on her Instagram in which she happily shared the news that she had been sober for 10 years.

DOCTOR SISTER ON CALL

Apart from her wife's unconditional support with her career, Diona can also count on her sister Lydia's help with her part as Kasie Hines. Lydia is a doctor and gives DIona a hand with the complex tongue-twisting medical terminology on the show. Diona revealed:

"Anytime — which is all the time — I don’t know how to pronounce something, I call like, “Oh, Lydia …” And she’s like, “Ugh. It’s midnight!”

STAND-UP COMEDY TO DRAMA

Despite her classic theater training, Diona's professional career started with stand-up comedy which led to parts in several comedy series. Her big break into drama came when she landed the part of Kasie Hines in one of the most popular police procedure series of all time, NCIS, replacing Abby Sciutto.

BEING LGBTQ

Diona has always been open about her sexuality and assumed her attraction to women as a teen. Her family was initially less than supportive, but have in time come to accept and support Diona's choice of lifestyle.

In "Clipped," Diona got to play a lesbian woman of color, who is at ease with her choices, and she hopes that her portrayal may have helped other Black women to come to terms with their own sexuality in a community that is less than accepting.

A ROMANTIC WEDDING

Patricia and Diona tied the knot in a romantic ceremony attended by their families. Diona wore a lovely white wedding gown, and her bridesmaids wore lavender, which matched her bouquet.

Diona shared adorable snaps of herself with her mother at her wedding, wearing an elegant purple wrap-over dress.

The couple is now celebrating their second wedding anniversary, but have not revealed any immediate plans to have children.

They did adopt a cat which Patricia found -- the six-week-old kitten was under the hood of her car -- and they named their fur-baby Engine Cat.
