Chris Cuomo Was 'like a Boiling Pot' While Breaking COVID-19 Quarantine, Bicyclist Claims
On Friday night, April 24, 2020, a bicyclist who claimed to have gotten into a confrontation with CNN’s Chris Cuomo, appeared on “Fox News” to tell his side of the story.
David Whelan, 65, a Long Island, New York, bicyclist recently featured on "Tucker Carlson Tonight” to share how he got into an altercation with Cuomo, 49. According to Whelan, during the argument, the television journalist was like "a boiling pot."
The whole disagreement allegedly occurred after Whelan confronted Cuomo when he saw him outside. At the time, the journalist was reportedly supposed to be under self-quarantine as he’d announced that he’d contracted the novel coronavirus on March 31, 2020.

COMING ACROSS CUOMO
Whelan recalled the altercation to Tucker Carlson stating: "It was Easter Sunday evening, it was chilly and cold," The cyclist shared that he’d grown up "about 1,000 feet” from where Cuomo was building his new house.
Whelan described the structure of the new home as just a steel frame at this point. He was cycling on a trail past where the new home was being built and he noticed a group of people there.
GETTING INTO AN ALTERCATION
The man explained how he’d been cycling for “seven or eight miles,” before deciding to take a little break. A woman allegedly confronted him asking if she could help him and he answered: “'No, I'm just looking.'"
He's like a boiling pot
Whelan recognized the woman as Cuomo’s wife, Cristina. The cyclist was then confronted by the CNN journalist after Whelan asked him if he shouldn’t be in self-quarantine because of the virus.
WHELAN QUESTIONS CUOMO
The cyclist revealed: "I think his next words were, 'What the hell do you know about this? What do you know about the rules?'” Whelan explained how he knew about the social distancing guidelines because his daughter is a physician at Johns Hopkins University.
According to the man, Cuomo kept moving closer to him, and “he's like a boiling pot, you could see his head." Whelan recalled how the television star was getting angrier and he asked him:
“'So are you gonna lose your temper like you did on the guy at Shelter Island?'"
CHRIS’ ALTERCATION IN 2019
Last year, Cuomo was caught on tape while swearing at a man who’d called him “Fredo” while at the Hamptons. “Fredo” is the weak, younger Corleone brother in "The Godfather."
The journalist later claimed that he’d been a victim of an anti-Italian slur. During the confrontation, the star threatened to "throw [the man] down [a flight of] stairs" among other things.
CYCLIST OFFERS TO MOVE ON
Apparently, Whelan then allegedly tried to diffuse the situation with the television personality by telling him he wanted to "move on.” The cyclist also claimed that none of the people at the house were wearing gloves or masks for protection.
CUOMO THREATENED WHELAN
Before they parted ways, Cuomo reportedly told Whelan he was going to meet him saying: “'You are going to meet me over this, you will meet me again over this.’” The star wasn’t the only person in his family to contract the virus.
SHARING HIS COVID-19 BATTLE
His wife also got infected but she healed much quicker than he did. The “Cuomo Prime Time” host has shared his coronavirus journey from the beginning.
COMING OUT OF QUARANTINE
He also took to his social media accounts to share the first time he finally got out of the basement. Cuomo self-quarantined in the basement when he found out he’d tested positive for COVID-19.
CUOMO SHARES HIS SIDE
The day after Easter Sunday, Cuomo addressed the confrontation he had with Whelan while hosting his SiriusXM show. The star shared: “I don’t want some [expletive], loser, fat-tire biker being able to pull over and get in my space and talk [expletive] to me, I don’t want to hear it.”
Whelan's recollection of the events can be seen here.
